Stella spent hours without food or water. She didn't want any. Frank came in. Stella pretended to be asleep.

"I know you're awake. I brought you some water. You haven't eaten in days." said Frank.

"I'd rather starve to death. I'm gonna die here anyway." said Stella.

"You're gonna die? Oh! Then I guess we should make the best of the last moments of your life."

Stella turned her back. Frank put his hand in the cage. Then his arm got stuck. Stella giggled.

"I can't take you out the cage. I'll have to die here with you. Let's be in the cage together." said Frank.

"I don't think so. Right now, I'm against pirates. They only put me in the cage." said Stella.

Frank released his hand. He went upstairs. Few minutes later, Frank came back. Stella was dumped with water.

"You're so rude. Who dumps water on a girl?" said Stella.

"You're a mermaid. I thought you would enjoy it." said Frank.

"Get out of here. I don't want you around." said Stella.

Frank held her hand. "I'm not going anywhere. I wanna be your friend." said Frank.

"How do I know you're trustworthy?" said Stella.

"You won't know if you keep ignoring me." said Frank.

Frank had been down there for hours. They ran out of things to talk about. Frank went back to the captain. Frank took pictures of the stars. He'd gather all the photos. Stella would collect the photos. She'd study them. One night, Frank caught a shooting star. He captured it. The photo was blurry. Stella was still satisfied looking at it.

Frank started taking pictures of things other than stars. The pirates would have celebrations. They would dance around. Frank took pictures of them. Stella wish she could dance with them.

The crew would gather at the table with the captain. They have dinner. Frank took pictures of the feast. He'd give Stella those photos. Frank would also bring Stella food he stuck from the table.

Stella hung the photos on the cage. Stella would look into a bowl of water. It would remind her life in the sea. As much as Stella wanted to come home, she wanted to stay and study the human world. And Frank was interested in life in the sea.
