Isa’s POV

“Isa…” I heard someone whisper. “Wake up!”

I opened my eyes to see Olive and Sophi standing next to me, staring down at me. “Good morning.” I muttered. “What are you doing?”

“Waking you up.” Olive said. “We forgot to tell you that Grandma planned a ball to celebrate your return, she’s been planning it for months!”

“But she didn’t know when I was returning.” I stated in confusion.

“She said it was a feeling she had.” Sophi explained. “She knew you would return soon, and she wanted to be ready.”

“So we are helping her by taking you shopping for a gown for you to wear!” Olive finished, “So hurry up and get dressed!”

“But what is Erik going to do all day while I’m gone?” I asked. “Where is he anyway?”

Olive and Sophi looked at each other and giggled. “Well when we first arrived, we found that you had fallen asleep on his shoulder!” Olive said, laughing. “He was quite embarrassed by the whole thing and Jemma has recruited him to help with the party.”

“Oh dear, he had no idea what he had gotten himself into when he agreed to it!” Sophi laughed.

“I hope Jemma takes care of him.” I said to myself. Sophi turned to face me, a knowing smile playing across her face. Of course she heard me! “Well what are we waiting for?” I asked hurriedly. “Let’s go!”

We arrived at our favorite dress shop early, so there wasn’t a very large crowd. The shopkeepers greeted us with a smile and let us wander around their shop. “Olive, Isa, can you tell me how this dress looks?” Sophi asked the two of us. We had been Sophi’s “eyes” for as long as I could remember, therefore we’ve been describing everything that she couldn’t see. In some ways, it was worse for Sophi since she had been able to see when she was smaller so she knew what she was missing.

“It is red, floor-length, with thin straps to hold it up. The color suits you quite well but the top is pretty low cut and I know how you hate stuff like that.” Olive said.

“I think you could get Grandma to fix the top if you like how it flows.” I said, smiling.

“Okay, thank you!” Sophi said.

I went back to attempting to find something, searching through dress after dress but never coming up with anything. “How is everything?” one of the shopkeepers asked. She was young, with short black hair and freckles. “Do you need any help?”
