Chapter 2

        "I think this looks super cool though!!" Jade's father said, as he tried to convince Jade and her mother that the 3 of them should dress up as the minions. "No!" Jade and her mother said again in unison. He pouted and she and her mom laughed. They kept looking around. Jade hadn't found the costume she wanted yet. Jade heard her dad started filming for his vlog again so she turned the corner to walk into a different aisle. Her best friend, Mia, suddenly texted her to ask if she wanted to hang out later.

mia: Hey dork ;) Wanna hang out later?

jade: heyyyy :p sure! what time?

mia: I'll pick you up at 6pm

jade: ok, see you then :)

      "Jade, I think I found our costumes!" Jade suddenly heard her mom say from an aisle over. She walked over to her quickly and sure enough, she had found the Harry Potter costumes. Jade searched for a gryffindor uniform and then went to try it on. Once she had picked out her costume in her size, she told her mom about her plans later. "I'm ok with you going but you gotta ask your dad" her mother said. Jade sighed. Her dad would be very strict with her going out. He's just a bit overprotective... "Hey dad?" Jade said to him as she walked up to him. He was trying to look for his own Hogwarts house uniform in his size. "Hey kiddo, what's up?" he asked as he continued looking. "Can I hang out with Mia later? She's picking me up" Jade told him. "Mia? Yeah sure! You better be back by 10pm though" he said. "Deal" Jade said. He finally found his size and went to go try his costume on. Jade had known Mia since middle school which is probably why her dad was a lot more lenient to let her go.

      After they found their costumes, Jade's dad paid and then they went back to his car. "What should we eat for dinner today? I was thinking Panda Express!" her dad suggested. Jade and her mom approved of his choice. They headed over to the chinese fast food restaurant and got their orders to go so they could eat together in peace at home.

       Back at their house, Milo greeted them as soon as they walked in. "Hey buddy! Did you miss us?" Jade said to him as he kept jumping up and down happily. She sat down on the couch and petted him as he laid on her lap. Her mom set up the table for them to eat while her dad vlogged a little more. He sat down next to her and filmed her as she happily petted Milo. "He's grown so much. He's not a pup anymore" her dad said. She nodded in agreement. He stopped filming as soon as Jade's mom called them both over to eat.

       After dinner, Jade got ready to get picked up by Mia. "What are you guys gonna do?" her dad asked. "Not sure. Probably watch a movie like always. I'll text you updates" she teased him. He rolled his eyes and her mom laughed. "Don't do that! Just have fun! You're gonna graduate soon, you're an adult now" her mom said. Jade smiled and nodded to her in agreement before the doorbell rang. "That must be her, see you guys later" Jade said as she hugged both her parents before leaving. She opened the front door to reveal her best friend. "Hey, ready to go?" Mia said. Jade nodded and closed the door behind her before following Mia out to her car.
