He kissed my forehead, my nose, my cheeks, and hovered an inch above my lips. He was teasing me and I took the bait. I grabbed his face and pulled his face to mine. I kissed him strongly gripping his hair in my hands. His hands slid up my sides causing me to groan. It suddenly hit me. This was Jayden! I shoved him away hard, leaving him reeling backwards. Jayden stared at me in shock.

“You didn’t convince me,” I say as I stand up, grab my shoes, and bolt from the room. Jayden’s eyes watched me go in surprise.

Chapter 11

I sat frozen in shock. Courtney. I had just kissed Courtney. And it wasn’t just a simple kiss. It was hot and she left me wanting more. I missed her presence and her touch already. I quickly jumped to my feet. I had to find her. I got to my feet and began searching for her. My human and my wolf were arguing. My human hated Courtney but my wolf loved her. Must find mate! My wolf yelped. No she’s… beautiful, amazing, and incredible! I told my wolf to shut up. But he pushed to my feet and out the door. I glanced around for her. I finally spotted her. And she was with Zach Henry. She was swaying slightly; he had his arm around her. I growled. See you do care Cable, my wolf taunted. What don’t you understand about shut it? I asked him in annoyance. I watched as Henry took my mate and carried her out the front door.

Courtney’s POV

My head started to pound. The alcohol was coming back to me and so were memories of the kiss. My first kiss. I stumbled down the steps blindly and looked through the crowds of people. I finally spotted Zach. I rushed up to him.

“Zachy,” I whine.

“What’s up Court? Why aren’t you having fun?” he asks.

“I want to go.”

“Go where?” he asks.

“I don’t know or care! Let’s just go for a drive,” I say trying to stand steady. I leaned on Zach and he grabbed my shoulders. He swung me unto his arms and walked to the door. We went to his car.

“Did you find him?” Zach asks referring to my mate.

“Yes,” I whisper hoarsely.

“Oh so who’s the lucky dog?” Zach asks grinning.

“Jayden.”

“Jayden Stories? As in the arsewhole beta of your pack?”

“That would be him,” I nod as Zach sets me in the passenger seat. He clicks up my seat belt and closes the door. He walks around to his door and climbs in.

“Where to?” Zach asks.

“I’m not sure just around,” I wave my hand.

“Sure,” Zach shrugs. He starts driving around. I texted Kelly to let her know we were alright. We had been driving for at least an hour before a wild thunder storm started. At first it was a light drizzle before it started coming down in buckets. Thunder and lightning quickly followed. I jumped at the loud claps of thunder.

“Do you want to stop?” Zach asks as e stops in front of a small motel.

“Sure,” I say. He stops the car and quickly climbs out. He runs to the trunk and pulls out a bag. He hurries to my door, pulls it open, and unbuckles my seat belt. He grabs me out of the seat as he makes a quick dash for the entrance. He had shielded me from the rain, so I was only slightly damp. He checked us in and carried me up to our room. I was tired. I had sobered up for the most part and Zach set me down on the only bed in the small room. It wasn’t fancy, but it was neat and clean. It was freezing though! I curled up in a ball.
