Recap:
“Tell me about your mate,” I finally say to her. I smile lights up her small, pretty face.
“He’s amazing,” she says dreamily.
“What’s he like?” I ask.
“He’s charming and sweet and so cute. He’s got the softest dark hair and these beautiful eyes,” Kelly sighs dreamily.
“That’s sweet,” I tell her. She went on and on about this mate of her’s. She promised me I would meet him. If only then I knew how wrong she was.

Zach did eventually finish his shower and Kelly fell asleep. I sat on the couch with Zach.
“Court I am so sorry-“Zach starts to say but I cut him off.
“You have no reason to be sorry,” I tell him sternly.
“I got you kicked out of your pack!” he exclaims.’
“Then I’ll join yours. The Silvermoon pack was holding me back,” I say smiling. Zach was not amused.
“Court,” he says sighing. I pressed my finger to his mouth.
“Shut up,” I say. He finally smiles and wraps an arm around me.
“Would you really want to join my pack?” Zach asks.
“That depends.”
“On?”
“Would you accept me?” I ask.
“YES! YES! YES!” he yells, making me laugh. “I already have accepted you and all your strangeness,” he says ruffling my hair.
“I am not strange!” I yell slapping his shoulder.
“Hate to break it to you babe, but you are.”
“Well thank you,” I say sarcastically.
“You’re welcome… Wait was that sarcasm?” Zach asks looking truly puzzled.
“No,” I say rolling my eyes.
“Okay good.”
“It was sarcasm dummy!” I yell slapping the back of his head.
“Abuse!” Zach yells slapping my hand away. I laugh.
“Tomorrow can I meet your friends?” I ask.
“Of course, they’ll love you!”
“Yeah people don’t usually ‘love me’,” I say using air quotes.
“Nonsense!” Zach yells sounding like a teacher. I let out a giggle. “I love you and so does Kelly, and your cousins,” Zach says.
“Aw,” I say sweetly as I flick his nose,” I love you too.”
“I know you do,” Zach says jokingly. I laugh and put my head on his shoulder. We talk all night. He was so easy talk; he understood my problems of being an outcast. I knew deep down he still felt horrible about what happened at the pack house but I didn’t care. Rio would take me back, and if he didn’t then I would join the Henry pack.
“Zach?”
“Yes Court?”
“Tomorrow…” I say trailing off.
“Continue,” Zach orders me.
“I want to meet Zoe.”
“Nope.”
“Awesome! Wait did you say no?” I say in surprise.
“Yes you are not meeting her,” Zach tells me.
“But- I exclaim before he cuts me off.
“No buts!”
“So can’t meet her or have a butt?” I ask in annoyance.
“You- are- not- meeting- her,” Zach says slowly in his alpha tone. I sigh but I couldn’t argue with his alpha. I sighed loudly and didn’t talk to him for a few minutes. I turned to him finally.
“Could I just-“I begin.
“No!” Zach says sharply. I gave up and put up my hands in surrender.
“Okay fine. What are your friends like?” I ask.
“We’re the dream team! Colin, Ryan, and I,” Zach says, his mood brightening.
“What are the other two like?” I ask.
“Well Colin’s the class clown and Ryan’s the nerd.”
“Oh and you’re the jock?” I say.
“You got it,” he says flicking my nose. I went silent and stared ahead.
“You’ll make a good impression I’m sure,” Zach says. I shake my head.
“That’s not what I’m worried about,” I sigh leaning back.
“Then what’s up?”
“Thinking about my mate.”
“I hope you don’t end up like me,” Zach sighs. I pull him into a hug. We just sit for a while.
“I’m talking to this Zoe!” I declare.
“No way!” Zach exclaims grabbing my wrists. I growl at him.
“Quiet a growl you’ve got there. But I can do better. ROAR!” Zach laughs letting go of me. I grin at him. Then next morning I went to the pack house. Zach drove me there and waited a block away. Kelly braided my hair and let me borrow a top with matching shoes. She had also had done my makeup. I knocked on the door and it flew open.
“Oh it’s you,” Holly sighs. I push past her.
“RIO!” I yell. Holly jumps at the loudness of my voice. I hear some noises and finally Rio saunters down the steps. Grace and Jayden followed him.
“Hello Courtney,” Rio greets me. Grace quickly tries to hide her surprise. Jayden just glares at me. “I realize that last night, I was a bit too hard on you.”
“Oh no it’s fine. I’m just here to grab the last of my stuff,” I tell him.
“No Courtney you don’t have to leave. I actually approve of your friendship with Zach Henry,” Rio says.
“You actually want me in this pack?” I ask in disbelief.
“No,” Jayden says at the same time Rio and Grace say “Of course.”
“Well I’ll stay but only for Nikki and Erin,” I decide. Rio grins and to my intense surprise Grace hugs me. Jayden rolls his eyes and mumbles. I ignore him and quickly leave the house to find Zach. I rush into his arms and hug him. I heard a strange noise. I glance over at the window to the house. Someone quickly rushed away from the window. Who would be watching us?
Jayden Stories POV
I pulled at the blinds in the window and spot the freak and her new friend. They were hugging tightly and he was whispering to her. I hated them both. That stupid little freak show was not good for the pack. We always had to watch after her and clean up her messes. Zach just seemed shady. I bet she told him how Rio ran the pack and all our strengths and weaknesses. I just wanted her to disappear.
