Some Dauntless brush against us some muttering what sounds like words of gratitude and others are giving us a wide birth as if we could contaminate them just by touch. Tobias and Tris walk over to us, handing Justin and I our weapons back. I can feel the tension between him and Tris and I don't envy her at all.

As we walk out Uriah runs up to us says something to Tris as her and Tobias are leaving then jumps over to us, well to Justin.

"Hey man glad you're all right. Ma was worried about you." He said while clapping him on the back. A smile formed on Justin's face and it was nice to see.

"I'm glad your good to. Where is ma anyway and Zeke?" Justin asks while we exit the room and follow Uriah as he takes the stairs somewhere.

"Well ma is around doing who knows what and Zeke he well..." Uriah rubs the back of his head. While walking into what I now realize is a temporary barrack of sorts. "He isn't here, he went with the other traitors." He finishes as he plops himself down next to the rest of the group that I have allowed to call my friends. Marlene rubs his back in a soothing manner.

"I still don't believe it." Shauna states.

"I don't either, he doesn't seem the type, who else that we know?"

"Tori, of all people"

"What, no that just makes even less sense." I exclaim my brows furrowing in confusion.

I sit on a bunk, Justin sitting next to me my head laying on his shoulder while his fingers glide through my hair, though not easily with all the running around we have been doing my hair is nothing but knots. He doesn't care, as he gently tries to untangle them. It is so soothing that I don't even realize I am falling asleep till it is too late.

I awake from the best night sleep I have gotten in a while it seems. The strong arm of Justin holding me against his sturdy chest. His breath tickling the back of my neck. I gently pull myself away from him, knowing he slept as well as I have been lately. As I stand from the bunk that we somehow claimed as our own, I see Lynn entering with Tris, I only catch the last bit of the conversation between them as Hec, Lynn's brother leaves a bunk in a hurry.

A few hours later Justin and I walk into the cafeteria and find seats with our small group of friends. We found out earlier that sadly Brandon didn't make it out of simulation alive, his body found on the tracks between Abnegation and Dauntless. A bunch of them were going on a mission, Justin and I not included. Him and Tobias were going to be doing something and I was just in no mood to go.

I decided to walk around the maze known as the Candor headquarters. I walk down a set of stairs and run smack into Chris. I smile slightly, and he turns to walk along side of me without saying a word. As we continue down the corridors I am happy to have my friend back with me. We just made it to the ground floor when the sound of glass breaking echoes through the stairwell. I look quickly to Chris as he removes a gun from his waist band. I open the door slowly and see countless dauntless on the ground with other Dauntless members with blue armbands walking around on the ground slowly. White gas dissipating at an alarming speed. I am surveying the devastation as I see Tris and Lynn on the ground.

Are they dead?

I close the door as quietly as possible and motion for Chris to go up one floor. We need the higher ground and the time to come up with a plan of action. As we make it to the floor above we hear the door of the stair well open.

"I still don't understand why we can't shot them for real though."

I look at Chris in confusion. What does he mean shot them for real? If they aren't really shot why were they all on the ground? My eyes shoot up the white gas, it must have done it. It doesn't explain the gunshots though, maybe dummy rounds?

"Seriously Bob do you want Eric to shoot you?"

"No of course not, but it still doesn't sit right with me, human experiments and all."

"Just shut up and do you job."

"Yeah."

Chris and I back out of the door and close it as quietly as possible. As the Dauntless traitors continue up the stairs. We are hiding behind a sofa in the lobby of whatever this floor is as the door opens revealing Bob and about 20 other traitors. What the hell are Chris and I supposed to do?

"Spread out and look around. Shoot anything that moves."

That was the last thing I heard before all hell broke lose. I saw a ball rolling past us releasing the gas I saw before. We had a millisecond to decide what to do, but the words of Bob ran through me. They aren't dead.

Quickly I stood up grabbing Chris who looked groggy and uncoordinated. I took the gun from him and turned towards the traitors firing at them as I attempted to run backwards I heard a body fall to the ground before I felt the impact of whatever they were shooting at us contacted with my person. Dropping Chris who was practically out as I wobbled and fell to the ground. Jerks shot me in the leg.

"Grab her and bring her down to the lobby."
