They tell you to share and then they rip up your gifts
Ask for your words and laugh
They ask "why the bitterness" but they never bother to care
Never bother to listen
Never bother to be there when you need them
They always ask you to open up and then they tear you down when you're exposed
Tired of feeling naked in this harsh
Unforgiving world
You close yourself off
Never even listen
You tear yourself away
And don't care about anything
You don't tell them how you're feeling
You don't tell them what you think
You don't care what you should like
You don't care how you look
The loneliest place in earth is when you are alone by choice
Afraid of being laughed at
Being made an awful joke
It's okay to close yourself off
It's okay to be alone
But let the ones you love in
Because they should be the ones to know
Because you can be alone sometimes but you should never be lonely
