The Silent Girl

There was a girl years ago
She lived in the silent woods
Her friends were the trees
And her family was the ferns
Her love was the snow glistening on the openings, completely unadulterated from footsteps
Her faith was the cool pond on a muggy summer day
Her hope was the doe looking after its staggering young
Her innocence was the fields of wildflowers growing haphazardly and proudly
Her wisdom was the leaves returning after a harsh winter
Her loneliness was the cold, cloudy night
Her concern was the stark trees before the first snow
Her despondency was the browning leaves after they all fell to the ground
The girl from years ago disappeared as suddenly as she had sprout up
The impact left was noticed by few
Her existence in that silent forest was purely in vain
And that is why she ended it
