"Beaver, is that you? I've been worried sick! If I find you've been out with badger again, I..." The beaver, who I assumed was Mrs. Beaver, came out of the dam, but trailed off, once she saw my siblings and I behind Mr. Beaver. "Oh! Well, those aren't badgers. Oh, I never thought I'd live to see this day." Mrs. Beaver said as she walked up to Mr. Beaver who had turned around to look at us. Mrs. Beaver started flattening her fur. "Look at my fur. You couldn't give me ten minutes warning?" She asked her husband. "I'd have given a week if I thought it would've helped." Mr. Beaver told Mrs. Beaver which caused Susan, Peter, Lucy, and I to chuckle. "Oh, come inside and we'll see if we can't get you some food, and some civilized company." Mrs. Beaver told us and started walking into their dam. Mr. Beaver chuckled and pointed at her. Peter put me down as Mr. Beaver. "Now, careful. Watch your step." Susan and Lucy went in after Mrs. Beaver, with me next, and then Peter, and lastly Edmund and Mr. Beaver. "Excuse the mess. Can't get Mr. Beaver to get out of his chair." Mrs. Beaver said.

"Isn't there anything we can do to help Tumnus?" Peter asked. Peter, Lucy, Susan, and I were sitting at Mr. and Mrs. Beaver's table. "They'll have taken him to the Witch's castle. And you know what they say. There's few that go through them gates that come out again." Mr. Beaver said, and my and Lucy's faces fell. "Fish 'n' chips?" Mrs. Beaver quickly said and put the platter on the table. As hungry as I was, I couldn't even think of eating, my thoughts focused on Mr. Tumnus. Mrs. Beaver put one hand on Lucy's shoulder and one hand on mine. "But there is hope, dears. Lots of hope." She told us and Mr. Beaver said. "Oh, yeah, there's a right but more than hope! Aslan is on the move." He told us like it was a big secret. I was confused. Who is Aslan? But I felt a little warmer inside once his name was said. Edmund walked up behind us. "Who's Aslan?" He asked, voiced my and all my sibling's thoughts. Mr. Beaver started laughing. "'Who's Aslan?' You cheeky little blighter." He continued laughing until Mrs. Beaver hit his shoulder, noticing from our faces that we really didn't know. "What?" He asked his wife before he noticed as well. "You don't know, do you?" "Well, we haven't exactly been here very long." Peter reminded him. "Well, he's only the king of the whole wood. The top geezer. The real King of Narnia." Mr. Beaver told us. "He's been away for a long while." Mrs. Beaver said. "But he's just got back! And he's waiting for you near the Stone Table." Mr. Beaver told us. Now I was really confused. What? "He's waiting for us?" Lucy questioned. "You're bloomin' joking! They don't even know about the prophecy!" He turned to his wife. "Well, then..." Mrs. Beaver motioned for him to tell us. "Look. Aslan's return, Tumnus' arrest, the secret police, it's all happening because of you!" Mr. Beaver said and I felt offended. You're blaming us! Susan voiced my thoughts. "No! Not blaming. Thanking you." Mrs. Beaver was quick to correct her. Mr. Beaver sighed. "There's a prophecy. 'When Adam's flesh and Adam's bones sits at Cair Paravel in throne, the evil times will be over and done.'" Mr. Beaver told us. "You know, that doesn't really rhyme." Susan pointed out. "I know it don't. You're kinda missin' the point!" Mr. Beaver said and his wife put her hand on his shoulder and took over talking. "It has long been foretold that two sons of Adam," Mrs Beaver pointed at Peter and Edmund. "And three daughters of Eve," Mrs. Beaver pointed to Susan, Lucy and me. "Will defeat the White Witch and restore peace to Narnia." Mrs. Beaver told us. "And you think we're the ones?" Peter asked them. "You'd better be, 'cause Aslan's already fitted out your army." Mr. Beaver told us. "Our army?" I questioned, looking behind me at Peter. Susan turned to Peter as well. "Mum sent us away so we wouldn't get caught up in a war." Peter turned to Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. "I think you've made a mistake. We're not heroes." "We're from Finchley." Susan added on, as if that proved their point. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver just looked at each other, wondering what that meant. Susan stood up. "Thank you for your hospitality. But we really have to go." "No, you can't just leave!" Mr. Beaver exclaimed and Peter stood up as well. "He's right. We have to help Mr. Tumnus." Lucy told our older siblings, and I nodded in agreement. "It's out of our hands." Peter told us before looking back at Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. "I'm sorry, but it's time the five of us were getting home. Ed?" Peter and Susan turned around. There was no one behind them. "Ed?" Peter asked again before turning to face Susan. "I'm gonna kill him." "You may not have to. Has Edmund ever been to Narnia before?"

We quickly left, following Edmund's trail. Peter first, then Susan, with me next, Lucy behind me, and Mr. Beaver taking up the rear. Running through the thick level of snow on the ground was hard, but we managed to do it, the thought of Edmund being in the Witch's grasp giving us perseverance.

A little while later, we got to the top of a mountain, that looked down upon an ice castle. Right before the large ice doors in the distance, there was a person. The doors opened and Edmund started walking in. "EDMUND!!" I screamed, but was immediately 'shh'ed by Mr. Beaver. "Shh! They'll hear you!" Peter took a couple steps, starting to run towards the castle, but Mr. Beaver grabbed onto his coat. "No!" Peter turned around and tried to get the coat out of Mr. Beaver's grasp. "Get off me!" Peter yelled at him. "You're playing into her hands." Mr. Beaver said. "We can't just let him go!" Susan told him. "He's our brother!" Lucy and I exclaimed, in sync. "He's the bait! The Witch wants all five of you!" Mr. Beaver replied. "Why?" Peter questioned. "To stop the prophecy from coming true. To kill you!" Mr. Beaver told us, and my heart dropped. She's going to kill Edmund? No, no, no, no, no. But, he can't die. He can't! I started hyperventilating. My breathing became rapid, my head started pounding, and my heart felt like it was beating a million times a second, as I looked at the ice doors that just shut behind Edmund. "This is all your fault." Susan accused Peter. "My fault?" Peter repeated, unbelievingly. "None of this would have happened if you had listened to me in the first place!" Susan exclaimed. "So, knew this would happen." Peter replied. My breaths got even more rapid, as I listened to my siblings fight, They didn't notice, though, too preoccupied. "I didn't know what would happen. Which is why we should have left while we still could!" Susan exclaimed, and I had had enough. "Stop it! Stop yelling!" I burst out, gaining my siblings attention. I took a few seconds to calm my breathing. "This isn't helping Edmund." I told them. "She's right." Mr. Beaver agreed. "Only Aslan can help your brother now." He told us. "Then take us to him." Peter said, and we all looked back at the castle, worried for our brother.
