My mom was driving Bella to her band practice at 6, and then I'd have the whole house to myself! Or to myself with Astrea.

I sat on the couch, watching an episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." A bowl of popcorn sat next to me and I got sucked into the drama as I waited for my mom and Bella to leave.

"Lisa!" I screeched. "Oh no you didn't! Girl what are you doing?" I yelled at the TV, ignoring the weird looks my sister was giving me.

She was decked out in a black tutu with red, blue, and green lace underneath the skirt, matched with a pair of black combat boots. She looked like a wannabe rocker.

I turned back to the TV, watching Kim fret about what to wear. "Girl!" I chanted, "You probably have a million dollars in that designer wallet of yours, just go buy a new freaking dress and go get your man!"

"Bye Pumpkinpie, see you in an hour or two!" My mom yelled from the hall as she walked to the front door, snapping me from my trance.

"Bye mom!" I yelled back.

As she passed me, Bella stuck her teeth out and made pointed ears with her hands, imitating a rat.

I shot her a glare, and she scurried along, right out the door.

*******

About 15 minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. She was here!

I jumped up from my couch crease and sprinted to the front door, taking a deep breath before swinging it open.

For a second, I was in a state of confusion. There were three people standing there, none of which were Astrea.

"Hi, my name's Billy and I'd like to educate you about God and the name of Jeh-" I cut him off by slamming the door in his face.

I slid down and lay on the floor in front of the door, throwing my hands over my face. Seconds later, I heard another knock.

"I swear to your freaking god that if you don't get off my doorstep-" I ranted as I opened the door. There stood Astrea, decked out in another white dress, long white-blond hair flowing in curls down her back and a little pale pink flower was tucked behind her ear.

"Ummmmmmm," I said pausing and losing track of my words.

"I feel like there's a story behind this," she said, ducking under my arm and into the house, "and I want to hear it."

So we headed to the couch, and I told her about the Jehovah's Witnesses, my mom and Bella, and Lisa and Kim's dress drama.

She listened attentively, laughing in all the right places.

"-and that's the story of how I ended up offending a Satanist and almost getting sacrificed," I finished, leaning back and running my hands through my hair. "So tell me a bit about yourself," I said, fixing my brown eyes on her blue ones.

"What do you want to know?" she asked, chewing her lip and keeping her eyes locked with mine.

"Ummm, what's your favorite color?" I replied, not quite sure what to ask.

"White," she replied, gesturing to her dress.

"Cats or dogs?" I asked.

"Cats all the way! They're so fluffy," she said in her deep voice.

"What would you do if - my mom's home!" I gasped.

"I'm not quite sure what you mean," she said, furrowing her brow adorably, and then flipped around, following my gaze. Her eyes widened considerably. My mom stood in the doorway, staring at me.

A cool breeze floated through the room, and I subconsciously rubbed the goosebumps off my arms.

"Honeydrop, who were you talking to?" My mom asked, staring at me, her clothes blowing in an invisible breeze. Bella stood behind her, staring at me silently.

"Ummmm, Astrea? The girl I was telling you about earlier. She's right there." I pointed to Astrea, who had paled even more than she was naturally. Her hands shook slightly and a single drop of blood appeared on her lip where she had bitten it.

"There's no one there, dingus," Bella said, rolling her eyes. "Is this another one of your stupid pranks?"

"No," I said confusedly, "She's standing right there. Astrea, say something."

She stood there like a deer in headlights and the room's temperature dropped even further.

"Astrea?" I asked, sounding more frantic.

She still did nothing.

"Ohhhh, my baby is crazy," my mom howled, ripping at her hair, large tears began falling down her face.

"Mom, what are you talking about?" I asked. I reached forward as I saw Astrea running towards the door, a brochure for a free waxing at a nearby salon floated towards the ground, but neither my mom or Bella saw it, their eyes were fixed only on me.
