Last night I had a rough time falling asleep. Mainly due to the fact that the bed I was in was extremely uncomfortable but it was also the fact that I'm in a different time period and it's freaky. I haven't been here long but nevertheless, it's terribly strange. All that you have known just gone. The room I was sleeping in was empty.

All it had was a bed and one side table. That's it. No dresser, no pictures, no anything. I was pretty much just staring at the ceiling all night and when I did fall asleep, it was an incredibly brief sleep. Like maybe 2 hours then I went back to sleep, and this repeated until it became 8 am. Janet woke me up at 8 because apparently, we have to "go shopping for clothes".

After Janet shook me awake she told me that breakfast was ready. She fled the room after that. I sat up and looked around the room once more. It looked shit. I got off the bed and stood up and did a little stretch. As my feet touched the ground, I noticed that it was icy. Which is understandable because I have no socks or slippers on. Last night I was so tired that I didn't even change. I was still in my awful Christmas party clothes. I opened the bedroom door that had been closed by Janet and shuffled out.

Last night I didn't get a particularly good look at the house because it was extremely black and I was tired. Also, I didn't actually care. As I was looking in the hallway, I saw 4 other doors which I suppose are the rest of the bedrooms and a bathroom.

The hallway wasn't actually a hallway, it was more like a balcony because the stairs were in the middle so there was only like a balcony to the other rooms. I was in the middle one so when I walked out of the room the stairs were right in front of me. I appreciate that because I can just walk down which is excellent. I walked down the stairs and recognized the layout from last night so I didn't have trouble finding the kitchen.

When I walked in I noticed that it was EXTREMELY vintage. I felt very nostalgic. The kitchen reminded me of the game Fallout. Which is pretty neat. Janet was using the stove to cook something. I saw a table with six chairs. Two chairs on the sides that were long and one chair on the shorter sides.

Harold was sitting in one reading the paper and sipping coffee. Jolene was sitting in another chair eating bacon and pancakes which smelled delightful.

Annie was also eating bacon and pancakes but she was barely eating. Jolene was very close to finishing. Both Jolene and Annie looked awful. Their makeup was all smudged, and it looked a little silly. But I probably look the same so I tried my best not to laugh because Jolene would beat me down.

I took a seat beside Jolene. I looked over at her plate and she was all done. I guess I was looking at the scenery for too long. Janet turned around and gave me a big plate of eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I was excited to eat the pancakes because they looked so very fluffy. She also gave me a glass of orange juice.

After she gave me the food she sat down across from Harold since he was sitting on the shorter side. Harold took a big sip from his coffee and put down the newspaper.

He walked over to Janet and kissed her on the cheek and left. Before he left I realized that he was wearing a suit. I guess he was going somewhere fancy or he's working.

After he walked out of the house and closed the door behind him, Janet sighed and stood up and did a little stretch. She was also dressed. She looked nice. She was wearing a turtleneck sweater that's purple with brown bell bottoms. She had a blonde bob. You could tell she was old but she didn't look like an old lady.

"Damn husband, he never cleans up," Janet says as she walks over to get the empty coffee mug Harold left on the table.
From the look of how Harold treats her you would think she's very shy and naive. But as she started to do whatever you could tell the presumption was very wrong.

"I'm guessing you three are here because Harold messed up on the time travel device," Janet said as she was washing the mug in the sink. I was pretty shocked I thought she had no idea, but I guess I was wrong. I looked over to Annie and Jolene and their jaws were wide open.

"B-but how do you know?" I asked

"Oh, I have my ways. Also, I found the notebook he writes in about all of his experiments" Janet responded. "I think it was a very silly thing to make a time machine just for little old me but y'know. Harold can't take being alone. I guess it's a sweet thing and he had good intentions but it wasn't a very smart idea" She went on as she was almost done washing the mug.

"You know everything?" Annie asked.

"Of course I do, I'm not an idiot. I had a job like Harold but he wanted me to stay here and do 'wife things' after we had our third child, so here we are. I was a working woman. I was a scientist, and I was proud of it. I guess it was good for the kids to stop working and watch them but I do miss the scientific lifestyle. It was luxurious." Janet said as she started to reminisce.

I guess Janet isn't a meathead.

"Harold is a stupid madman but I do love him, he has never crossed me and that's because if he did he knows that I would slap him silly." Janet went on, again. "But, don't we have to get you girls some outfits because Harold messed up and now you're stuck here?"

"Yes mam," Annie said as she stood up and did a salute. I don't know why she did that but she did.

"Well, the first order of business. I need to wash that clown makeup off your faces. You look very silly" Janet said giggling.
