You know that awkward vibe that you feel after a huge family argument? No one really talks to each other; everyone just stays in their room all day and keeps to themselves. And you absolutely dread eating dinner together in the uncomfortable silence.

Well, that's the best way I can describe the past week that we've lived in this dormitory. But the weird part? —There has been no such argument. The even weirder part? —Jungkook is the only one that's angry. FOR NO REASON.

Before we moved on campus, we were closer than ever. Now it's just his hostile attitude towards everyone, constantly. Especially me, but only when he's not fucking ignoring my existence.

Jungkook, Jimin, Jane and I all sat in awkward silence at the kitchen table. Jiminie and Janey sat near each other, away from Jungkook. From the way their phones kept buzzing and the occasional glances they would pass, it was pretty obvious that we were texting each other.

Well, it was obvious to me at least. It was hard to tell if Jungkook even knew we were there. He sat casually, an annoyed expression laid on his brow as he ate his spring rolls. His headphones were on full volume, possibly to avoid conversation.

I watched as he moved his food around the plate with his chopsticks, sighing deeply. I studied his expression, dying to know what was going on inside his head. Our eyes met for a split second... I flinched and looked down at my full,
untouched plate. My phone that sat beside my plate began to buzz with alerts.

"(Y/N)~" Jane whispered. "Check your messages."

I was able to clearly understand the lyrics from Jungkook's loud music, so I was unaware as to why she whispered. It's not like he would care, anyway.

Whatever.

I picked up my device, opening my text messages. Jane had created a group chat between her, Jiminie, Tae, and Liz.

Me: Hey...

Jane: are you & kook doing okay?

Jimin: Like what the hell happened, recently?

Tae: Err... he's perfectly happy when you're not around.

Liz: i'm gonna beat his bratty ass. why is he being a dick all of a sudden?

All these questions made my mind race with bad thoughts.

Did he regret coming back to me?

Had I done something to him?

With lost fingers, I typed a reply to all their questions.

Me: i don't know...

Jungkook's voice started me back to reality.

"Great, phone's dead," He sighed heavily, ripping his headphones out and dropped the device on the table.

Picking up a spring roll with his chopsticks and dipping it in spicy sauce, he started up the annoying small talk that he's been using for the week we've lived on campus.

"So, Janey–ahh."

Jane flinched, placing her phone face-down onto the table. She dotted her eyes to his for a split second then avoided eye contact.

"How were your classes, today?"

"Mm... boring," She mumbled.

"Hm," He nodded, chewing the last bite on his plate. "Anything you don't understand?"
