I'm back people!
*Silence*
Where are you guys?
*More silence*
Come on guys, where are you?
*Even more silence*
This isn't funny anymore!
*Even more extra silence*
You know what? Fine! Don't answer! I'll just post this anyway!
Disclaimer: I don't own Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
-------------------------------START OF CHAPTER------------------------------
It was after lunch and, after a vote, the children had decided they wanted to read outside.
The children and Miss Peregrine currently sat in a circle. It went like this, Miss Peregrine started the circle and on her left sat Claire, then Bronwyn, then Emma, then Fiona, then Hugh, then Millard, then Horace, then Enoch, then Victor, then Olive, and then we were back to Miss Peregrine.
"Are you children ready for me to continue?" Miss Peregrine asked.
The children nodded and some sounds of agreement were heard.
"Alright," Miss Peregrine said and started reading,
Some of what Grandpa Portman had said made sense,
Enoch scoffed quietly. "Of course it did," he muttered quietly enough so almost no one heard. The only people who heard were Horace and Victor who were beside him.
Victor snickered quietly and Horace rolled his eyes and elbowed Enoch.
like the thing about wanting me to go to the island. He was worried that the monsters would come after me, and thought the island was the only place I could escape them, like he had as a kid.
"That does make a bit of sense," Millard said.
After that he'd said, "I should've told you,"
"Which he should have," Millard said.
but because there was no time to tell me whatever it was he should've told me,
"What he should have told you is that you're peculiar," Enoch said, stating the obvious.
Horace took a deep breath and looked at Enoch. "Must you always state the obvious?"
"Does it annoy you?" Enoch asked, smirking slightly.
"Yes!" Horace cried.
"Then yes, I must always state the obvious," Enoch said, smirking wider.
"Boys, cease your arguing," Miss Peregrine said. They both went quiet.
I wondered if he hadn't done the next best thing and left a trail of bread crumbs leading to someone who could tell me--someone who knew his secret.
"That's actually pretty clever," Millard said.
I figured that's what all the cryptic-sounding stuff about the loop and the grave and the letter was.
Hugh raised an eyebrow. "Look at the brain on this one."
Emma leaned over Fiona and slapped him slightly. "Stop copying Abe's words!"
For a while I thought "the loop" could be a street in Circle Village--a neighbourhood that was nothing but looping cul-de-sacs--,
"What are cul-de-sacs?" Claire whispered to Bronwyn. She got a shrug in response.
