i hope for the girls
that spend hours debating on what to text back
that spend hours changing outfits, trying to find the perfect one
that continuously pick up the paper towels on the bathroom floor at school when no ones looking
that, every morning, hold the door for those same elders with the gas station coffee and bright smiles
that spend hours practicing their smile for picture day
that spend hours trying to do their hair and makeup like "those girls"
that spend hours scrolling through quotes, trying to find one that matches their current situation
that spend hours listening to meaningful song lyrics
that have a heart of gold but don't recognize it
i hope those girls find all the happiness in the world someday.
because they deserve it just as much as anyone else.
