COLOURS - CHAPTER THIRTEEN

"YOU LIKE ME?" RICHIE QUESTIONED, FEELING UTTERLY CONFUSED.
"that's bullshit!" eddie replied bitterly, walking off, and in that moment, richie's couldn't sworn he heard his heart break. he thought that maybe, just maybe eddie actually liked him but alas, he didn't, and richie didn't blame the smaller boy.
"hey eddie, wait up!" richie yelled out, running to eddie and stopping him.
"what do you want tozier?" eddie asked, annoyed, he just wanted to be left alone in peace.
"i need to tell you something just, please let me." richie asked desperately.
"i don't know why i should let you hut hurry up i don't have all day tozier."
after eddie said that, richie pulled him in for a soft kiss. eddie's eyes widened in shock but closed his eyes and relaxed into the kiss. after the kiss they slowly pulled away, both smiling at each other.
"so that's what you wanted to tell me?" eddie asked, smiling.
"well yeah.. i really like you eddie and i just couldn't help myself." richie shyly said, getting ready for rejection.
"well i guess you're in luck cause i like you too tozier." eddie laughed, his face going red which richie found quite adorable.
after school eddie and richie decided to go find stan and bill together.
"what do you think they'll think of us?" eddie whispered into richie's ear.
"i don't know but who cares honestly." richie whispered into eddie's ears, sending chills down his spine.
the two boys looked for them and when they finally found them they saw beverly walking up to them.
"this can't be anything good.."richie whispered under his breath and he was right, it wasn't good.
"hey guys welcome to the freak show! so here we have stutter and jew being gay together! and where the hell is four eyes and mumma's boy?" beverly yelled out to the whole school. a group of boys snickered at beverly's comment, thinking it was hilarious.
"sh-shut up be-beverly-" bill tried to say but got cut off.
"come round everyone, here we have stutter trying to shut me up! well maybe if you weren't so gay you wouldn't stutter idiot, how about you leave your jewish boyfriend for me huh?" beverly taunted the poor boy.
"a-nd why would i d-do th-that?" bill asked, deep down he was scared for what she was going to say next.
"oh, i'll give you a reason." beverly whispered in his ear.
"is she okay?' eddie questioned richie, looking at beverly whispering something into bill's ear. bill shook his head but then beverly whispered in his ear again and he walked off with beverly and the group of four boys.
after they all left richie and eddie ran up to stan to see what had happened.
'what the fuck happened to you?' richie yelled at his best friend.
'i don't know richie, but whatever beverly said to him must of been good because he said that he wanted to break up with me.' stan said, his voice breaking up at the end.
'well it's his fucking loss.' richie replied, helping stan up.
'go find your dickhead of a friend eddie, and tell him to fuck off!' richie yelled at eddie, walking off with stan.
eddie stormed off, and he left school not wanting to deal with all of the bullshit. one second richie acts like that he loves me and the next second he calls my best friend a dickhead and treats me like shit, eddie thought, confused. yes, bill may of done something wrong but he would never walk off with beverly unless it was for a reason. and either way, it wouldn't of been his fault in the first place, as it didn't have anything to do with him.
as for richie, eddie didn't want his feelings to be toyed with. yes, he adored the kiss they shared but he didn't want his feelings to be played with. he knew that richie and beverly had dated and he didn't want it all to be a lie or a dare or, that beverly blackmailed richie into dating him to embrass him.
maybe beverly is blackmailing bill to help her with her plan to make me feel embarrassed but what in the actual fuck did i do to her? would bill actually help her? would bill really do that to me, his best friend? would stan help him out at one point and then gang up on me? make me feel so embarrassed? eddie's thoughts went all over the place as he sat down on a random part of the grass and started crying as his thoughts drowned him.
and it felt like he couldn't be saved.
