When I get to the community deck where the party is going to be located, most of the committee is already there.
"Well, I think the last task we need to complete is decorating this room," I announce calmly.
Everyone nods in agreement.
"Let's get started then," I decide as we all start unpacking decorations.
It's 13:00 now, and the party starts at 15:00. So, we have two hours to decorate the deck. I'm not worried, as I know we can get the job done with time to spare.
Vale, Eevee, and I end up passing out decorations together.
"So, did you try to convince them?" Vale asks casually, seemingly expecting me to tell her I hadn't.
"Kind of..." I start before Eevee and I giggle a bit.
"Oh no, what'd you do?!?" accuses Vale teasingly.
"Just teased them about their 'fear' of a party 'killing them' before walking away too fast for a response," I admit with a slight giggle afterwards.
"Good one," Vale praises as she gives me a playful, gentle punch in the arm, "I couldn't be prouder."
"You learn a strategy or two when you have siblings that seemingly live to tease and torment you," I comment happily.
"I thought all of your siblings adored you," notes Vale in confusion.
"My adoptive siblings, yes, they adore me. Some of my siblings in arms, not so much," I explain.
"What do you mean by siblings in arms?" asks Vale.
"My teammates from before I came back to work as a Spartan again. I know them well enough that I consider them siblings," I elaborate simply.
"Ohhhh, I get it," Vale responds in a knowing tone.
"Come on, let's put up the last of these decorations for everyone else," I suggest since we were down to the last of the decorations.
Vale nods as we begin to put up the decorations.
