In my whole twenty two years of being alive I've went through many phases.
When I was younger I wanted to be a dancer then as I got older I slowly gave up on that dream and decided that I wanted to get into the drawing business.
I wanted to design cartoon characters and even get my own cartoon on TV but the harder I worked the further behind I seemed to fall. I couldn't get anywhere and I began to doubt myself in this industry.
I suddenly felt lost in life. I had no idea what I wanted to do anymore and everything seemed hard.
One day as I was just messing around and street dancing for fun a random guy named Hoseok appeared and changed my life.
I remember the day as if it were just yesterday.
~
Flashback;"You dance really well, you know that right." The mysterious man says and I look around, confused as to why he was speaking to me and not one of the other many amazing dancers here.
"Really? I was just messing around." I laugh awkwardly as I begin to pick up my coat and bag from the sidewalk.
"Seriously. Have you ever thought about dancing as a career?" The man asks, his brown eyes piercing mine.
"Nah. It was just something to pass the time." I say. "It was fun talking and all but I have to get going now." I say and go to walk away but a hand grabs ahold of my wrist and turns me around.
"I'm sorry but I can't just let this type of talent walk away from me. here, take this." He says as he pulls out a small white card with black cursive lettering on it.
It read: Jung's school for prestigious dancing!
Under it had two different phone numbers and an email address.
"Thanks" I mumble before hurrying away.
~
Present; To this day I still had yet to call either of the numbers on the card or even do research about the dance school itself.
I just didn't think I was interested.
I mean sure, I loved dancing. I had ever since I was a child but doing it as a career wasn't something I was very fond of anymore.
Dancing just wasn't my life anymore..
"Y/n, you're zoning out again." My best friend Jungkook says and I snap back to reality and look over at him. "Oh really? Sorry." I say with a little chuckle. "What were you thinking about?" He asks while offering me a smile.
"Stuff." I shrug. "Was it about dancing again? Y/n do you remember what I said to you? You're an amazing dancer! You should at least go audition at that school for crying out loud!" he says and I just brush his words off.
This wasn't the first time he has said this to me.
He was always telling me how amazing I was at dancing and he was continuously trying to get me to go audition every chance he could.
"Forget it Jungkook. It's not happening." I say as I stare outside of the window and watch all of the people and cars pass by.
When I turn my head back my vision gets blocked by a body.
When I look up I come face to face with the same man from a couple of months ago.
"You never called." he says and my eyebrows furrow together. "Uh, Y/n?" Jungkook asks, just as confused as me.
"I told you I wasn't interested in dancing as a career." I say but the guy doesn't seem to be having that as he pulls another card out of his pocket.
"Please, just come audition. Our dance school is very good, best in the country. I really think you'll get in, kid." He says even though he doesn't look far from my age at all.
"No thanks." I say as I push the card back to him only to have it snatched up by Jungkook.
We both look over at him with wide eyes.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure she comes!" Jungkook says and my eyebrows furrow in shock and confusion.
"Great! I'll see you next Monday at one pm sharp." The guy says with a bright smile and then leaves.
Once he's gone I turn to Jungkook and punch him in the shoulder as hard as I possibly can.
"Ouch what was that for?!" He cries out.
"It's for accepting that when you knew damn well I didn't want to go. You can't just decide my life for me Jungkook." I say angrily and even though I yelled at him, he smiles and his eyes soften.
"Trust me Y/n. I know you act like you don't want to pursue a career in dance but I know deep down you do. You love dancing Y/n and you have ever since we were kids. Please Y/n, Just audition. That's all I'm asking." Jungkook says and my eyes search his face then I let out a breath.
"Fine, I'll go to the audition." I say and Jungkook's face lights up.
"Seriously?!" He asks and I nod.
"Only because you already accepted it. I probably won't make it in anyway so I guess it wouldn't hurt to try." I say and he gives me a huge smile then leans forward and hugs me.
"You should go shopping for an outfit. I wanted to get some new clothes too so we can go together" He says and I nod and stand up.
I go pay the bill and then we head out to go buy clothes.
All in all, I guess I wasn't completely pissed that Jungkook accepted the offer.
I just wasn't sure that dancing was what I wanted to do with my life.
I mean it's just an audition right?
It's not even guaranteed that I'll get accepted.
Maybe I should stop worrying and just be happy that Jungkook cared about my well being and leave it at that.
Then I guess it's settled.
I'm going to audition.
