Chapter 6 ~ A memory

''Hope, what did you see?'' I asked. We sat in our corner while the boys were arguing about Anti who replaced a piece of Hope's soul in order to save her.

''It was terrifying,'' she told me. ''I saw different things he has done over the past years. He's a monster (Y/N)! He killed innocent people! I saw it...''. A tear rolled down her face. 

Poor thing. I imagined how that looked like and was felt with disgust and anger. How dare he to do this to Hope! She has already been through so much.

Hope was silently crying in the blanket. I hugged her again. ''I'll make sure Anti is gonna reverse this or something, I promise!'' I whispered in her ear and stood up. 

But before I could walk toward Anti to confront him Hope grabbed my hand.

''Don't be hard on him... please... He has already been through a lot...'' she mumbled. ''What?''. I was confused. First, she told me that he's a monster, now she tells me to have mercy!

''When I was asleep, I saw a really old memory of him... Of him and Jack.''. Hearing Jack's name made me feel angry. Hope continued. 

''Jack kept him somewhere hidden a-and did horrible things to him.''. A tear rolled down her cheek. I wiped it away. 

''I won't go too hard on him okay? Now go and rest little bee!'' I said and tucked her in. ''If the nightmare's come back, I'll be there for you.''.

Hope nodded and yawned. I stood up and walked to Anti and Mark's corner of the garage.

''I already told ya, if I didn't do that she wouldn't survive!'' Jack yelled at Mark. Mark sighed, sat down and held his head in his hands. ''Poor girl...'' he mumbled.

I sat down next to Mark. Anti was already sitting on his bed which was next to Mark's. ''So, what are we going to do now?'' I asked. ''Hope can't live like this, she'll have nightmares for the rest of her life!''

''I there any way you can reverse it Anti?'' Mark asked, calmer now. Anti shook his head. ''If I reverse it, she would probably die. Changing souls with a demon could be fatal to a human. She almost died the first time.''

I sighed and thought. How could we fix this? Hope wouldn't get any good sleep for the rest of her life! Every single night she must deal with Anti's terrible memories.

''(Y/N)?''. I looked up at Anti. ''Eh?''

''I need to talk to you for a sec.''. I nodded and stood up. ''I'll keep an eye on Hope, even though I think she's not asleep yet...'' Mark grinned and stood up to walk to Hope.

Anti and I walked to the backyard and sat down under the tree again. ''So, spit it out,'' I said. Anti looked at me.

''There is a way we can get Hope to rest properly again...'' he sighed. ''But I need your help for that.''. I nodded. ''Tell me.''

''We have to switch the part of my soul with a part of yours.''

''What?! Is that the only option?'' I yelled. Anti nodded and looked at his feet. ''You'll have the nightmares but she can sleep normally, hopefully.''

I sighed. Anti gave me some time to think. It was the only option. Hope would have a better life. 'I can deal with it. I've been through a lot.' I thought. It would only be fair. I have my brother back, she has nothing.

''I'll do it!'' I said and stood up. ''A-are you sure?'' Anti stuttered. 

''Yes, she doesn't deserve this for the rest of her life. She saved my life multiple times in the orphan range. If she wasn't there, I could have died. It's the least thing that I can do...''
