"Steve, why are you inviting me now? At seven o'clock at night?" Jackie sighed into the phone, with a smile tugging on her lips as she talked to Steve, who was also smiling with a stupid grin on the other end of the line, "Well because you were mad at me today, and I wanted to give you some space."

She rolled her eyes as she rolled from her back onto her stomach, "I wasn't mad at you specifically Steve, I was mad that you didn't stick up for my brother. You know that he—"

"Yeah— yeah I know and I'm sorry. Just... please come over, so I can make it up to you?" He said, and she knew he was using his puppy dog eyes on her, even though she was nowhere to be seen.

She sighed, "I'll come over Steve—"

"Yes!"

"But only for a couple of hours—" She said, "—I want to be here in case they find anything on Will, okay?" There was silence on the other line before he answered, "Two hours, got it, see you then." He said, before he quickly hung up on her.

She sighed before getting up and going to her closet to change. She changed into a black t-shirt underneath a red flannel, with a pair of high waisted jeans and black converse. She finished her look off with a shake of her wavy hair and nodded to herself, just as the phone rang, "Hello?"

"Are you going to Steve's?" Nancy Wheeler said with a rush, making her stop and think for a moment. "Uh, yeah? Why—"

"Barb and I are going to pick you up in five minutes." She said before hanging up quickly.

Jackie shook her head, "What is up with everyone hanging up on me?" She mumbled to herself before opening her door and turning off her light as she left the room and walked into the living room, "Hey mom? I'm going over to Nancy's for a little while to study, her and Barb are picking me up in a minute... is that okay?"

Joyce looked up at her daughter and nodded, "Yeah. Just please, please be home by eleven?"

"Oh I'm planning to be home by ten," She paused with a smile to pick up her backpack for show, "I wanna be home in case we get anything on Will." Joyce looked up from her hands and too her daughter, not thinking what she was going through, and she had made her daughter feel so guilty for Will being gone, when it wasn't even her fault.

Jackie had lost a part of her when Will went missing, a person who knew what she was going through without having a father, or someone who was interested in the same things as him besides his friends.

She was missing someone who understood her.

Joyce nodded, "O-Okay honey. Please be careful, and don't go anywhere alone." Jackie nodded as a car horn honked form outside the door, "I won't mom, I love you!" Before Joyce could say anything back her only daughter was out the door, and she hoped she was going to be okay.
