Hey guys. I've been thinking, if you want, you guys can comment and tell me your ocs and other names. I might include them in the story if I like the sound of them. Remember to include a bio of the cat too plz!!!

Petalpaw stalked the mouse soundlessly, melting the noises of her paw steps into the background. The mouse was crouched on a root, stuffing half of a pumpkin seed into its mouth and then washing its self by licking its paws and then running them down its head. I'm so close! Do not mess up this time, Petalpaw!

It had been a quarter moon since the battle and her apprentice ceremony and she had already learned how to hunt and catch mice, even if she wasn't always the best at it. Petalpaw was yet to learn a battle move. Cedarpaw was also healing well. Birdsong had reported that his training would have to be delayed but he would be back up in a moon. He was so brave, undergoing all that pain. And to have the knowledge that his training would be delayed for a moon? Petalpaw couldn't imagine what he was going through.

Frustrated with herself for letting herself get distracted, Petalpaw pushed away the picture of Cedarpaw writhing in his nest and the feeling that she always got when she thought of him. She closed her eyes and breathed in the scents of the forest before turning her attention back to the mouse, which was still eating its tiny seed.

Silently, she crept forward, careful not to let her tail brush the ground. When she was in a leaping distance, Petalpaw stopped abruptly.

"Mrraow!

The mouse raced away with the sudden noise and bounded towards its hole, trying to take refuge from Petalpaw, who was already giving chase. It was almost to its nest with Petalpaw stunned it with a messy flick of her paw that nearly missed. Quickly, Petalpaw killed the mouse with a sluggish blow to its neck before turning to Acornpaw, who was running towards her, screeching enthusiastically.

"You nearly scared away my prey!" Petalpaw snapped, lashing her tail.

"Sorry," Acornpaw mumbled, looking ashamed and Petalpaw instantly felt bad.

"Its alright," she mewed quietly, touching her muzzle to her sister's ear. "I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."

"Then it's settled," Acornpaw purred before puffing out her chest. "Guess what I caught?"

"What?"

"A thrush and a squirrel."

Petalpaw blinked slowly, feeling shocked while trying to process what her sister had just said. "A thrush and a squirrel? Those are hard to catch even for the senior warriors! This is only our first couple of sunrises of training!" She looked at her own measly catch that was lying, bloody and dirty, on a tree root. "Prove it to me."

"Fine," Acornpaw huffed, and led her into a pile of dirt near a birch tree. She dug up the hole to show her two cleanly killed pieces of prey: a fat thrush and a squirrel the size of her. Petalpaw winced. Her sister hadn't been lying.

"Sorry."

Acornpaw rolled her eyes playfully. "Let's take our prey back to camp."

"Yeah, sure," mewed Petalpaw doubtfully, still staring at her pitiful catch. One tiny mouse to feed the Clan? That would never happen. She'd blown her first assessment, just like she had with all of her other hunting trips to date! Stormclaw, had been a harsh mentor so far, drilling her with trivia and working her until her muscles ached. Dread accumulated in her belly.

She fluffed up her pelt on the walk back to camp. The forest was quiet in its encasing of sleet. Icicles suspended themselves from the naked tree branches, and in the distance, a fox shrieked.
