Chapter 4

One Week Later

2 AM - Jisungs Room @ Seoul Hospital

When Jisung woke up, the first thing he heard was the beeping of the heart monitor.
He moved his hand, trying to identify anything in the room. His vision was blurry, but he could still see the boy bending over his bed.
Minho.
"Min-," his voice sounded bad, like he hadn't used it in a while - he probably hadn't. "-ho."
Minho waved a hand in front of his eyes. "Can you see me, Jisung? Can you hear me? Are you awake?"
Jisung nodded, only at the last question. He was awake, finally. But his vision was fading.
"I'm getting a doctor," Minho informed him before running out.
Jisung tried to figure out how the room looked, turning his head to get a better view. But the edges of his eyesight were getting darker, the room faded away.
By the time the doctor arrived, it had completely disappeared.

3:42 AM - Changbins Room @ Seoul Hospital

It was dark outside when Changbin regained his consciousness. Something heavy was lying next to him, preventing him from sitting up.
He turned to check, and spotted reddish blonde hair, Felix. The boy was asleep, but he seemed restless, flinching from time to time, mumbling strange things, partly in english.
The older sighed, streched out his hand to stroke the latters head, softly raking his fingers through the youngers hair.
Felix stopped muttering and flinching and continued sleeping peacefully.
Soon Changbin joined him in Dreamland.

7:23 AM - Kitchen @ Stray Kids Dorm (it got fixed)

Chan was preparing breakfast when Minho called from the hospital.
"Hello, did something happen?", he greeted the younger.
"Jisung is awake."
"I'm coming." He hung up and ran into the living room, seeing Woojin and Seungmin sitting on the couch.
"Hey, Woojin, could you make breakfast? I gotta go to the hospital, Minho said that Jisung just woke up." Without waiting for an answer, he was on his way to the hospital.

7:31 AM - Jisungs Room @ Seoul Hospital

Chan entered the room, smiling at his younger brother, who was sitting upright in his bed.
"Hey, how are you feeling?", he asked, sitting down next to the bed.
Jisung, on the other hand, had struggles finding out who it was.
"Better," he said, his brain working fast, trying to recall the voice.
Before Chan could ask any other questions, Minho arrived.
"Hello CHANNIE HYUNG, hello Jisung, it's MINHO." The boy walked towards the head of the bed, the back of his hand softly brushing against Jisungs body, showing the younger where he was.
Chan thought that Minhos behaviour was weird, Jisung thought it was helpful.
"Did you tell him yet?", Minho asked.
Jisung shook his head. "I was about to, hyung."
"Tell me what, Jisung?", Chan asked, slightly alarmed (understatement).
"Before you were here," Jisung said, sighing, "we had a conversation with one of the doctors. I need a surgery."
"A surgery?" Chan was about to panic. "Why?"
"Channie hyung...", Jisung turned his head in the direction of the leader, "I can't see you, or anything else, in that matter."

10:33 AM - Changbins Room @ Seoul Hospital

When Changbin woke up, he had a pounding headache.
He spotted Jisung standing next to his bed, staring into nothing.
"Jisung!!", he cheered and tried to sit up, but stopped, wincing and lay back down.
"I wouldn't sit up if I were you," Jisung helpfully remarked. "The doctors said your back doesn't look to pretty, so it should hurt really much. It did get hit by glass."
Changbin snorted. "I hadn't noticed."
"Sorry," Jisung laughed, slightly awkward.
Changbin sighed and stared at the younger, then frowned. Something was wrong with his eyes...
"What happend to your eyes?"
"Huh?" Jisung turned his head to Changbin, giving the older a full view of his eyes.
They were red, making them look unnatural.

"Why are your eyes red??", the elder asked, panicked.
"Oh, then the medication is working. I must leave soon then." Jisung, on the other hand, sounded completely calm.
"What do you mean??"
"I... can't see, Changbin hyung, I'm temporarily blind. The fire destroyed my eyesight, but they can restore it with a surgery. I got prepared with some medicine, so that it would be easier."
Changbin only stared at him, silently trying to figure out whether or not that was a joke. Only one way to find out. "Are you kidding me?"
Jisung shook his head. "No, sorry."
A nurse entered at that moment, smiling when she saw that Changbin was awake. "Mr. Seo, finally. I'm your nurse, Woo Hyorin."
"Hello Noona," Jisung greeted her.
"Oh, Jisung-ah. May I check your eyes?"
"Sure."
Hyorin took one glance at them and smiled. "Better get ready for surgery, Jisung."
