i had texted sophia approximately nine days later, my favourite number.

she agreed to have all her friends have a picnic at a park that was within walking distance for me but not for jack. this was so that he couldn't run away too far.

sophia was incredibly gorgeous, and so intelligent. she thought this through very thoroughly and called rather than texted. she had me take notes and recite them to her.

she claimed she was just determined.

flowers. they were everywhere.

this park was absolutely beautiful.

ever since i got the privilege to see the colors red, orange, yellow, green, and now, blue, i learned a lot about flowers. they amazed me. right away, i noticed amaryllises, callas, tulips, bupleurums, birds of paradise, asters, and peonies.

i noticed a red picnic blanket twenty feet away, and sophia's bright orange hair. a boy's bright yellow shirt. the green grass. blue jeans. the colorful shoes and fruits.

i texted sophia i had arrived. i watched her open my text and give me the signal.

the plan was still perfect, for jack's back was turned towards me. i walked slowly to them, picking up my shoes so i didn't attract too much noise.

i noticed a few of the boys noticed me approaching, but also remembered the plan sophia must have informed them of.

i tapped the cute boy's shoulder.

"can i talk to you?" i asked, as he turned around, a small gasp escaping his soft, pink lips.

he stared off into the distance for a little, chewing his sandwich. i watched his hand prop him up on the blanket, pulling wyatt's hand that had reassured itself onto his thick thigh.

i watched him nod and stand up. i walked away, to stand by a shaded tree. he had followed me, surprisingly.

his eyes met mine. i put my hand in front of him, seeing more flowers pop in my peripheral vision. "hi," i said.

he looked down at my hand.

he grasped it.

"hey."
