Laura May is a 13 year old girl that lives in Pennsylvania with her family. She has an older brother an older sister and a little sister. She never really thought she fit in with her family. But today she finds out why.

Laura's POV

I was in my room playing my piano, when my mom called me down stairs. I walk downstairs and I see my mom and my dad sitting down.
"Come sit here dolly" my mom says. She calls me dolly for a nickname.
I sit down and my mom and dad look worried "is everything okay?" I ask furrowing my eyebrows.
My mom grabs my hand and says "you're always saying you don't fit in this family" I nod.
She has tears in her eyes. My dad then says "sweet heart. We adopted you when you were a baby" they say.
I laugh "ha nice joke dad. Good one" I say getting up.
"No. We are serious honey." She says. I believe her. I took at them in shock and tears fill my eyes and I take my hand out of my moms hand.
"So you lies to me the other times when I asked you?" I say with hurt in my voice.
"To protect you" they say. I sigh and go upstairs but stop "please don't come up and try to say your sorry" I say and run up to my room crying.
I cried for hours until I realize I wanna know where I come from.
"Mom dad" I say walking down the stairs?
They come up and nod.
"Can I ask you questions about where I come from and who my birth family is?" They nod and smile.
We sit down at the table talking and I found out my parents names and that I have an older brother and 2 younger siblings. They live in Dallas,Texas.
My birth name is similar to my adoptive name cause the middle name my birth parents gave me was coincidently their last names. So my birth name is
