I walk in the extremely crowded hallway filled with the typically school kids. Jerks bumping into everyone while they push around their friends. Bitches yapping to their friends about make-up and boys. Nerds huddling together trying to avoid everyone. Then their is everyone else who is just a mix of normal people and weirdos in disguise, but really aren't we all truly weirdos in disguise?
I try to act confident but my I-don't-give-a-shit attitude seems to be drawing more attention to me then I like. Everyone I pass I feel like they are staring about me. Everyone around me is whispering and since I'm the new kid I immediately feel like it's me. As I feel my confidence level decrease I start to panic.
Then to make it worse I bump into a boy making me drop all my books.
"Oh, are you ok? Do you need any help?" A boy with black hair and tan skin asks me. Before I can shoo him away he has already started picking up my books.
"I guess since you've already grabbed all my books," I say which makes him laugh.
"Hi I'm Calum, are you new here? I just love new people!" He says excitedly, amost in a childish way. He has seemed to break down my walls a little because he actually has me smiling instead of my usual frown or as I like to call, my 'whatever' face.
"Abby, and yeah I'm new," I say trying to get my normal act back on but I only get it to work half way because I'm still smiling a little, mostly because I find it funny that he reminds of a hyper puppy.
"Well welcome to Hell! Oops I mean Smithfield High School. Wait never mind I did mean Hell," A boy with black and red colored hair says to me joining me and Calum's conversation.
"Abby this is Mikey, Mikey this is Abby," Calum says in his very happy voice.
"Hey awesome shirt!" Calum points to my mayday parade shirt. "you like them?"
"Yea they're awesome. I like Jamie All Over," I say excited to talk about music, one of my favorite topics.
"Me too!" Calum says excitedly. We talk a little more and I find that the more I talk to them, the more I like them. I guess I made some friends.
.
.
.
"How can you pick a burger over pizza?! Pizza is like the delicious, heavenly tasting food ever!" Mikey is obsessed with pizza I swear. I mean he's arguing with me just because I didn't choose pizza for lunch.
"I just didn't feel like pizza today. God, calm down Mikey, it's pizza not the end of the world," I laugh as Mikey just shakes his head at me like a disappointed mother.
"So how do you like our oh-so-great school?" Calum asks, his tone full of sarcasm.
"Oh it's soooo great! I mean I'm just beyond psyched to be here!" I say in a peppy voice, being completely sarcastic. Calum and Mikey burst out laughing at me.
"You're voice, it sounded like the dumb ass cheerleaders at this school!" Him and Mikey continue to laugh.
"What do you mean? I this is like totally my normal voice," I say in the same sarcastic voice, and then I try to do my best I'm-confused-because-I'm-dumb look. Then I pull out my phone and pretend to get a text. "O-M-G Brad texted me! He's like soooo hot!!"
"That is gold! Hilarious!" Mikey claps his hands and laughs again.
"Thank you. I try," I say dramatically and take a little bow.
"Thank god you moved here, Calum was getting pretty boring to hang out with," Mikey says trying to hide a smile but fails.
"Hey!" Calum laughs. "I'm not boring!" Calum shouts and pretends to be offended.
"Kidding," Mikey laughs. We laugh some more at each others jokes but suddenly Calum started to freak out as if he remembered something important.
"Oh my god I completely forgot! Mikey did you hear?" Calum all of a sudden gets all jumpy like he has the best thing to tell Mikey.
"Hear what?"
"Luke's back," Mikey's smile fades.
"What? Since when? I thought he got expelled," Mikey says worriedly.
"Who's Luke?" They just ignore my question which pisses me off a little but I try not to get to angry because right now they are my only friends.
"No, he got suspended and now he's back. I haven't seen him yet though," Calum's voice had lost all his pep and now he seemed very worried too.
"Who the hell is Luke?" I try again but they just completely ignore me.
"This isn't good. Not. Good," Mikey shakes his head.
"I heard he's pissed too about being suspended and stuff," Calum sounds like a girl the way he's gossiping right now.
"Of course he is. He's always pissed," Mikey says.
"If he tries to fight-" Mikey cuts him off.
"He won't,"
"Why do you say that?" Calum questions Mikey's sudden knowledge of everything Luke.
"I have a feeling something may have... uh... Changed in him," Mikey smirks a little as if he remembered something that made him happy.
"WHO THE FREAKING HELL IS LUKE??" I yell to get their attention, done with trying to keep my cool. They both look at me and start to speak but they stop and start to just stare at me. Why are they staring at me like that? I look at them confused. Then it hits me. They aren't staring at me, there's someone behind me. And I have a feeling I know who it is.
"I am."
