I sat up, I knew I fell asleep, and I saw Anne staying exactly where I was when I fell asleep on her, but she stayed EXACTLY in the same place.
She didn't move from me sitting up, it's like she was a statue.
I looked at everything else, it was stopped in time.
"Hello?"
"Can anybody hear me?"
No answer.
It was creepy, I was scared, I was alone.
I was asleep.
"June, wake up, we need to get to class." Anne said as she shook me.
"Thanks, Anne."
"Go under the table and hide again, I'm sorry you have to hide, really, I am." she said, "But people will freak out when they see you."
"I know."
"Okay, don't let anyone see you, stay in the shadows."
"Okay, goodbye!"
"Bye."
I walked outside to try out my shadow hiding powers.
I walked around the neighborhood, and found out that different objects peel differently.
If I was in the shadow of a tree, it was like peeling dry paint off your skin. In the shadow of something plastic, it actually hurt.
I walked to my old, burned down house, and looked inside.
I saw my old toys, my alarm clock, all burnt and torn up. There was a nest in the kitchen, and my mother's favorite ring was on the floor in her room.
I took the ring, and I noticed something strange about it, the carvings on it made a little bird, tearing into the skin of another bird, and killing it.
Everything was burnt and there were ashes everywhere, the house was falling apart.
I walked about the neighborhood more and I found what I think was Anne's house, in the window of the kitchen, I saw what looked like her mom.
There was a big black Lab in the backyard, he was very friendly and his name was Shadow, as I saw on his collar.
They had a nice big trampoline, I jumped on it, it was fun.
Suddenly, a small boy of about seven years came into the yard and saw me, startled, I didn't know what happened, and I didn't want anyone to see me like this, I somehow turned into a little black rabbit.
"Mommy! Mommy! There's a little black bunny on the trampoline!"
