The next day I was able to feed myself just fine. Loki only helped me to stand out of the makeshift bed, and guided me a little bit in my walking before I was fully capable to do so myself.
"Oh it feels good to be up and walking again!" I exclaimed. I did little leg stretches as I peered around the cavern in detail. My eyes stopped to my ruined clothes. " Ah...there goes my good clothes..."
Suddenly green light slivered around my body, going from my toes, up. And in a flash handsome clothes were formed upon me.
I wore a tight long sleeved black shirt with beautiful green designs traced on it. Thick, yet light, black pants were finished with stunning black boots.
The big furry snow cape was placed around my shoulders.
"There..." I heard Loki breath into my ear "that looks perfect on you."
I blushed and turned around to face Loki "Did you do this? How-?"
Loki smirked "I used my magic. Do you like it?"
My heart warmed up and I smiled back "Yes I do."
I starred into his green eyes, finding a caring, loving gaze. Those eyes felt so familiar and I felt my soul reaching out to know what secret lied between us.
I faintly realized that Loki was moving closer to me, his eyes thick with longing for what ever he wanted from me. His hand was brought up to my face, slowly caressing my cheek. The orange fire cast a romantic glow in the cavern, making me drawn to stay with Loki in the moment.
Loki stiffened and his green eyes froze, his brow slightly furrowed.
I was about to ask Loki what was the matter, when I heard a faint scraping noise coming from the cavern entrance.
Loki silently ushered me to remain silent as he gave me my satchel and he stood in front of me, facing the entrance. Faint scraping sounds resonated off the cavern walls.
"Frost Wolves..." Loki whispered "They have found us. Stay here as I go confront them."
Fear choked my throat as I nodded. Loki stalked silently away and around the bend to the entrance.
I waited there by the quiet crackling fire, deciding that it would be a good idea to take out the dagger that was in the satchel. Would it be that the frost wolves had hunt me down and were now looking for me?
A fierce bark made me snap out of my thoughts and a tumult of barking and growling followed suit. Loki burst around the corner making me jump in surprise.
"Quickly!" he gasped "We have to escape while I have them distracted." He threw everything into a corner, gathered a few small items and pored water over the fire, making the cavern pitch black.
My heart jumped as an arm wrapped around my waist. "Come..." Loki whispered slightly out of breath. I let him guide me in the darkness, his body pressed against mine in the direction he went.
I clamped my eyes shut at the sudden bright light in my eyes, a cold crisp bit my cheeks. Loki continued to guide me along the rock ridge as I tried to adjust my eyes to the brightness. Loki stopped and brought us down to a crouch.
I blinked several times before I was able to see the snowy landscape, the intense sunlight reflecting off the snow, the sky free from clouds. We crouched behind a bush.
Off to the side I could see a cluster of frost wolves searching in the foliage far below the ledge.
"I am going to distract them some more" Loki whispered into my ear "When I have their full attention I want you to quietly escape over to the other side of the cliff." Loki pointed up the slope in the opposite direction of the frost wolves. " There will be another cave that you would have to climb to go in after crossing a stretch of snow."
Loki squeezed his arms around me before letting go. "Go" he said before he disappeared in a flash of green magic.
The wolves howled at the sight of Loki appearing behind them and they jumped into action. I quickly routed the best way up the cliff and started my assent.
I started up the slightly steep rocky path Loki had pointed to with some effort, the sound of growls and fighting sounding below. The fighting was no longer visible as I reached half way.
I finally made it in between a crevice that opened to an enclosed snow plain, the vertical jagged rock walls surrounding the large circular area. I didn't see any signs of the cave Loki was talking about, perhaps it was along the jaggedness of the rock walls that built up and around.
I started walking through the thick snow towards the opposite end, reaching a third of the way when a warning growling noise sounded behind me. I froze in fear and cautiously looked back.
Two frost wolves were starting to walk either side of me in attempt to surround me. The larger grey and white wolf appeared out the crevice I came out of and started to tread straight to me.
Remembering my dagger, I nervously reached for it, taking it out as threateningly as I could. Unnerved, the frost wolves pressed on, the main wolf almost snickering.
"How funny human..." It's deep raspy voice filtered through my head. I froze.. the frost wolf was talking to me! "You are no match for me in your state. Your body is still quite exhausted."
"What do you want?" I fearfully asked "Why are you hunting me? I never did anything to you!"
The main frost wolf huffed "I need your magic powerful one." My eyes shot open, surprise making me speechless.
"A great power is rising and I need yours to stop it."By now the leader frost wolf was only a few feet away "Come with me now or I will have to force you."
I gaped my mouth open to speak but nothing came out. Power? What power do I have?
A large hawk suddenly swooped over head screeching in fury "DON'T TOUCH HER!" It commanded.
The large hawk started to swoop down towards the main frost wolf, talons outstretched, when two large arrows pierced it. One on the shoulder of the wing and the other on its side.
I watched with wide eyes as the large hawk tumulted down, green magic unveiling a familiar figure. "Loki!!!" I gasped.
I started to run to him but halted in my tracks when the other two frost wolves blocked the way. "The enemy has found us!" The main frost wolf growled in my head, looking up in the sky. It's golden eyes looked into mine. " We must go now before they find us."
"What? Why?" I asked panically.
"They want to use your power for evil..." the main frost wolf snarled. "Now come!"
I was helpless as the other two wolves pressed behind me on either side, the leader guiding me away from injured Loki and what ever enemy was in pursuit.
