The next day
Extreme humidity and cool breeze is a typical first week of summer in Derry. So is not knowing what to do. All these things you can possibly think of doing in the summer but not actually doing it.

June is at the quarry thinking about why she's still living. Her parents got her upset before she went out today. They said she should've got left as a baby. If they wanna say that, why the hell did they get her in the first place?

As June stood up, she got even more upset. So she started kicking rocks.

"This isn't helping." June thought. "I'm going to the store."

June was walking to the store when she saw Richie. He was with four boys who she's seen in school at least once before. One of them looked seriously injured. She was pretty concerned about that.

She tapped Richie's shoulder and said, "Hey."

Richie turned around. "Oh, hey."

"Who's this?" The short, tan boy asked.

"Boys, this is June. June, meet my friends Bill, Eddie, Stan, and... whoever this is."

"I'm Ben." The injured one piped in. "Ben Hanscom."

"Nice to meet y'all but what happened to you, Ben?" June asked.

"Bowers gang is what happened to me."

"So you're telling me that Henry Bowers and his ass kissers did this to you? They're gonna have to choose a way to die today." She said with anger.

"You don't have to do this. I don't even-"

"Know you like that? I know, but I don't care. Payback's a bitch."

"I like her already." Eddie said.

"Come on. Let's fix you up."

"Richie, wait here." Bill ordered.

"Why me?"

"You t-t-talk too much. C-Come on, you guys." The others followed him to the store while Richie had to stay with Ben.

They made it to the store to find supplies for Ben. Eddie had his hands full of first aid stuff.

"Can we afford all that?" Bill asked.

Stan counted all the money he had. "It's all we got."

"Are you kidding me?" Eddie asked.

"Let me help." June said as she pulled out six dollars from her pocket.

"Thanks, but it's still not enough. You can take it back if you want." Stan said.

"No, keep it. I gave it to you for a reason."

"That's very n-n-nice of you." Bill told her.

"Don't mention it." She grinned.

"Wait, you have an account here don't you?" Bill asked Eddie.
