The entire household was in high anticipation for the Prince's arrival. Never in her lifetime had Liliana seen the staff in such an uproar. She herself was a little filled with anticipation, after all she had never seen or heard much about the prince.

Come to think of it, for the several years that she had stayed here there was barely a word said about him, it was as if his name was forbidden and if anybody dared uttered it they wouldn't live to tell the tale.

Liliana shook her head and wondered why she always tried to put her depressing mood on everything. Everyday she tells herself she doesn't want anyone's pity yet she always keeps bringing up sad and painful stuff.

She knew she trusted no one and was suspicious of the smallest things, but that is what kept her alive until this day. A lot of memories shuffled in her mind, countless of them where her suspicions were never wrong, and the few times she didn't listen she got hurt.

Today was not a day about her, she knew that, but it was like her mind had a mind of its own and wouldn't listen to her.

"Your way too smart for your age". Grumbled Mrs Rose as she pushed a lock of brown hair from Liliana's face.

"But it's true isn't it? If babies came from aeroplane doesn't it make us all aliens?", This question made Mrs Rose roll to her eyes, causing a cute frown to appear on Liliana's forehead, making her feel like she should elaborate "After all, I doubt humans would have so many babies to send them all over the world, who else than aliens?"

"When you're older you will understand."

"But I want to understand now."

"Liliana I won't repeat myself, there will be some visitors to the community soon and everyone has to meet them, I'm already stressed please can you stop?" Hearing the sound of her full name made her realize how serious Mrs Rose was.

"Sorry nana". She pouted

She felt so bad for making the little old woman stress, after all she didn't have to keep her in her home, much less to show care. Slowly dragging her feet Liliana wondered out the house aimlessly. Remembering the story of how Mrs Rose found her, she always wondered what her real mom looked like, wondered why she left her in the woods on that cold winter night.

Did my mom love me? Was a question that always bothered her.

So lost within her thoughts she didn't notice the figure coming her way until she was knocked to the floor.

"Watch where you're going kid, don't you have eyes?" His voice was deep and strong, echoing into the silence that surrounded her.

"I'm sorry sir, but you also bumped into me, does it mean that you don't have eyes too?" In all her little innocence, Liliana bravely stared into the cold gray eyes of the man.

"Are you out here alone little girl?" The question made her frown, Mrs Rose always reprimanded her for wondering out alone yet here she was doing it again.

The way the stranger stated it made a trickle of worry run down her spine, she didn't like the way he was looking at her, didn't like the way he dressed, her too smart mind told her to run but the stubbornness she had told her to stay.

"I shouldn't talk to strangers." Stated Liliana as she quickly turned around and hurried home, deciding to retreat, still she could not forget the gray eyes and how they burned into her back.

As fast as her legs could go she ran right home and into Mrs Roses arm who was searching for her. And although she told Mrs Rose everything was alright deep down she couldn't ignore the sinking feeling that things were going to go wrong, all because of that man with gray eyes.

A bitter sweet smile presented itself on Liliana's face as she came from the memory, she remembered how sweet and innocent she was, how she didn't know pain back then. Her smile grew when she remembered Miss Rose but shank a little realizing that the man was the reason she was here.

Maybe it was some crazy messed up Destiny, maybe fate had nothing more to do than screw with her life. Taking her misery for its joy.

"Come on Lilly, the prince has just arrived, you knew he was returning from war today, stop day dreaming." Another maid by the name of Cindy hurried by her grabbing a basket and rushing out.

Lilana froze in shock, she can't believe she had been so caught up in her thoughts she didn't hear the horn. Quickly running after Cindy she joined the line of maids that were greeting the prince.

A man with light creamy skin was surrounded by guards as he descended his horse, his eyes were dark green, reminding her of the forest. There was something about him she couldn't quite place but she stood mesmerized by his black hair that began blowing in the wind as he got closer to her.

Being the kind and generous servant who was in charge for the day, Cindy quickly stepped forward and bent on her knees, as the prince came to a stop before her she gently plucked an Apple from her basket and presented it to him.

"My Prince, to show how much we miss you, here is an Apple."

His pink kissable lips sprang into a sweet smile, slowly taking it from her hands and holding it in the air.

"Thank you." Cindy smiled, cheeks blushing because he thanked her.

Liliana was awestruck, she couldn't believe this was the Queen's son, he was so unbelievably kind. But before Liliana could think further she watched in astonishment as he placed the Apple under his feet and crushed it.

"But why would I take food from a dirty servant like you." With that said he sauntered off, his black and gold robe brushed pass her, leaving Cindy with tears running down her face.

As the guards and maids hurried after him, she quickly gathered the weeping girl within her arms.

Looking back at him Liliana thought that never before had she seen someone so handsome behave so mean.
