Liliana still could not forget the incident from yesterday, she thought that he would be better than his mother from the first impression he gave but apparently she was wrong. Maybe she wouldn't have been so shocked of the event if he had acted cruel at first but he made you feel safe, welcome and worthy before he crushed you, well in this case the apple.
Not only that but he made Cindy cry, she was known to be strong headed and never cried, but yesterday she did, seeing her breakdown in her arms made Liliana want to scream at the prince, tell him to apologize and never look at Cindy again.
But she knew she couldn't do that, it would mean more punishment or worst death, and even though her life was miserable she wasn't ready to die, she wanted to stare destiny in the eyes and say bitch I did it. Maybe it was to test how strong she was but she was determined not to fail.
Stepping into her slippers she decided she was going for a stroll in the market place, maybe she could buy something nice for herself, it wasn't regular when the servants got a day to themselves but tomorrow was the welcome home ball and the Queen wanted to look generous to the outsiders, she was getting servants from the best bakery in town to cook the princes welcome home dish so it wouldn't be a problem.
Liliana knew the queen would find duties for them if she didn't want to look good to the few kings that were attending, she did not know why but the Queen always carried an air of pretense that she was good in order to catch the attention of powerful men.
Maybe it is an hobby Liliana laughed to herself, maybe she can't rest without a powerful man within her legs. Small giggles escaped her lips when she thought of that, it wasn't new for her to see the Queen with different men sneaking out of her room at night, men even as young as her son. Liliana grimaced now that she thought about it, at first she didn't know the Queen had a son but now it seemed more disgusting.
Shaking her head she decided she wasn't going to entertain those thoughts about the queen, hurrying down the hallway she quickly swept out of the castle and down the street. Although she was free for the day she wasn't about to push her luck in case she was called back to work.
It was a long walk to the market place but in no time she was there, maybe it was the fresh air that she was enjoying or the green trees but time had flown. The market was crowded, sellers screamed at the top of their voices and carriages crowded the walk way. Liliana's eyes zoomed in on a specific incident as she saw a child begging some spear change. Her heart broke looking at the little girl in the dirty dress as she was pushed aside by the pass buyers.
The sight before her made her life seem a little less depressing, the kids around her were homeless but that did not stop them from smiling, they looked very hungry yet she didn't see any bitterness on their face or tears. She felt disappointed in herself, taking a step towards them she felt the coins weigh heavily in her pocket. It was the only money she had but looking at them they needed it more than her. Bending before the little girl she scooped up her hands and dropped them in the middle.
Getting to her feet she waved her hands to the children and started walking about, the sights before were nothing new but at least she felt free, even for just a little while.
Sighing to herself Liliana decided she wanted to go to the docks and stare at the scene before her, she always loved the water, looking at the ocean always made her feel free. Nearing the docks she heard the sound of laughter and singing.
A smile stretched across her face when she came around the corner and saw the men dancing and working, even though she knew pirates were feared she didn't feel an ounce of fear looking at the men before her. The men looked so free like they didn't have a care in the world, and although what they were singing sounded weird to her she couldn't remove the smile from her face.
Men are so free, I wish I was a male, sighing to herself Liliana quickly moved away from the docks and the men that were singing while loading the ship and upon turning down the street she was slammed into a wall by a drunkard.
"Watch where your going slut." Shocked she watched as he staggered towards the women loitering along the street that were wearing heavy makeup and scantily clad clothes.
Watching in amusement she pressed closer to the wall as he gripped one of them who turned round and slapped him. Being that he was already drunk and near the edges he easily fell into the water. Thanking the heavens it wasn't her she hurriedly scurried down the street only to walk into another wall. This must be her lucky day, Liliana thought sarcastically as she fell to the floor.
Gentle hands gripped a hold of her shoulder before lifting her to her feet, it happened so fast if her butt didn't ache she would have wondered if she hadn't fell. Ready to thank whoever helped her she couldn't believe the handsome face that she looked up at.
His raven black hair looked purple in the sun, his sun kissed skin highlighted his chiseled cheekbone and purple blue eyes. The movement of his mouth caught her attention, his lips looked pink and kissable, never in her life had Liliana wondered what it would feel like to have a man's mouth against hers but now.
She felt herself being shaken before she realized that all along he was speaking to her. Heat blossomed upon her cheek knowing she had been caught checking him out.
"I know I have the face of a God but the looks your giving me says take me now." A smirk appeared upon his face "And God knows I wouldn't refuse, especially the way you ran into my arms."
Blushing once again Liliana quickly moved out of his arms and huffed "I did no such thing, if you had been looking where you were going we wouldn't be standing here in the first place. Maybe it's you who wanted me."
A chuckle escaped his lips and his chest vibrated with laughter. "The day is still young, who knows? maybe I can visit you later, just leave your window open."
And with that he took off into the crowed, spinning around Liliana hurriedly searched for him but he was like a ghost vanishing into thin air, he was no where to be seen.
Having enough for one day Liliana quickly gripped a hold of her dress and hurried out of the market place and ran half way home.
Walking back to the castle she still could not forget the man's wicked words and handsome face.
