It's Thursday, which means it's been a day since I found Derek alive on Tuesday, and I'm with Scott at the Hospital, we are dropping food off to Mom. I am dressed in a loose button down white top, blue biker-style jeans, brown combat boots, my usual jewelry and makeup, some of my hair is pulled back and twisted then attached to each other in a braid.
Scott lifts the bag up, showing mom as we head over.
"Oh, thank God. I'm starving." Mom says and takes it and sets it on the desk, she turns back to us and hugs us. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Thank you for bringing me dinner."
"Is everything okay?" Scott asks
"Except for half the accident victims in a ten-car pile-up being rerouted here from downtown, and the E.R. attending not answering any of his pages, yeah, I'm okay." Mom replies
"What does not answering pages mean?" I ask
"It means that nobody can find him, so now we have to wait for the on call to get here."
"Miss." a woman patient asks as she walks over to us.
"Yes?" Mom asks
"Excuse me, can I kind of please have something for the pain?"
"Okay, I'm sorry. I know. But, actually, giving you something could complicate things, so we really just need to wait for the doctors. Okay?" Mom tells her as she helps her sit down in a chair.
"Yeah."
"Okay. How much longer on Dr. Hilyard?" Mom asks the receptionist
"Ten minutes." the receptionist replies, Scott sits next to the woman who asked for pain meds.
"Uh, you know, I think that I read online that sometimes human contact can help with pain," Scott says and I see him take her hand and take her pain.
"How are you feeling?" Mom asks me.
"Fine, you know aside from normal pregnancy symptoms like nausea, being exhausted more than I already was, and my breasts being tender and such I'm fine. But with this Alpha mess and human sacrifices and such, I'm tired of it" I say, Mom, rubs my shoulder.
"Someone... Someone help me!" Someone yells, we turn to see Ethan holding onto Danny, who is in pain
"Oh, I need help!" Ethan says
............................................................
"Okay, gentle, gentle, gentle!" Mom instructs as Ethan and Scott sit Danny in a chair.
"What did you do to him?" Scott asks Ethan pulling him a few feet away.
"Nothing. He said he was having chest pains and trouble breathing, but it... it just kept getting worse." Ethan explains
"This is not good. How much longer on Dr. Hilyard? His larynx has shifted to the side. I think it's a tension pneumothorax." Mom says
Danny then throws up making us jump back, I look at it and see something very alarming.
"Mistletoe." Ethan and I say at the same time and Scott looks at us in worry.
............................................................
"Can you three please go back to the waiting room?" Mom asks as they roll Danny into a hospital room on a bed.
