I crouched down, biting down on my bottom lip as I thought to myself what exactly was happening. What the heck was going on? I was trying to fix my problem before Asriel noticed that I had messed up. I had accidentally shoved his table, causing a vase to fall to the ground. And, well, his table was on fire. . .
I winced when I heard him shout from his bathroom, "Maybe I should take you to meet Mom and Dad today!" I felt more panic come into my chest as I took a deep breath, shouting back, "That sounds like fun!" I looked around, and saw a glass of water in his kitchen.
I touched it, and splashed it over the table. Some of it spilled before it got near the table, touching me. I felt a flash of pain as the water put out my flame. I groaned, falling to my knees as I tried to gain back my fire. I landed right in a puddle of water.
I rolled out of the water puddle, clutching my arm, which felt like it was going to turn to ice it 'burned' so much. I began to cry. It hurt.
Then, I heard the door open. And I heard, "Oh my god, Phoebe, are you alright?"
I looked up, seeing Asriel as I cried. The water burned down my cheeks, and he spoke, "Oh, Phoebe, it's okay. What happened?" I sobbed, unable to stop now as I spoke up, "I-I broke a vase and I just. . .I tried to put out the table, but the water touched me. . .and ow. . . . ."
He touched my face slightly, and spoke, "It's okay. Here, I'll give you the energy to light yourself back up, alright?" I nodded, and he did as he said.
I lit myself back up.
I looked around. The damage wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it had been. It was minimal.
"S-sorry. . ."
"No, Phoebe, don't be sorry! It's okay. I just wanted to make sure that you are a-okay!"
I was so lucky. . .
