Walk of Shame

Hinata Hyuga was many things.

A lady and a soldier, a lover and a fighter, a shy girl and a brave soul. One thing she wasn't was a whore. But to everyone in the Hyuga residence who knew this fact, who knew their princess so well, this was a truth that seemed to be tainted. So here she sat, feet together and her weight resting on her legs as she looked down at her lap. She couldn't look up at her Father's harsh stare or Neji's equality pissed expression.

Hinata had gone missing all night and morning, meaning the whole Hyuga residence was manic. Searches were out,  clan members checked every inch of the compound for signs of a struggle or fight -Some even going as far as to send out summons in search for their beloved heiress. The beloved heiress who, at the same time, was just walking home from a night at the Uchiha home. 'Well...' She thought, 'N-Not in that way...'

Hinata was ready to face her punishment, ready for whatever yelling was going to come her way or whatever insult was going to be flung at her - But she received none. Her father simply stood there, face cold and hard with anger, but no emotion seeped through. Hiashi turned his head to his nephew and quickly sent him out, turning his attention souley to his daughter.

"These are not the morals our clan was founded on." The mans voice filled every crevice of the room, not loud, yet the demand and power in his voice wouldn't let a single corner go untouched. He leaned forwards and began again,

"The years of growth and misery the Hyuga have endured, only to have you - A future clan leader - walk home in near nothing like a common whore! From The Uchiha compound of all places! You spend your nights with a traitor!"

Hinata had to hold her tongue back. She knew better than to interrupt her father in the middle of a lecture, even if it was wrong - the girl wouldn't risk his anger.

"The whole village is abuze with this news and here you are, with no words on the matter! Speak!" He demanded. The young Hyuga lifted her head to her father and opened her mouth slowly, but closed it again. All the times she'd gotten composed around her father, the times that she had been able to answer to him... All those times could be counted on a single hand - And now wasn't one of those times.

"Out." Hiashi bellowed, "OUT!" Hinata pushed down on the pillow under her and made her way straight to her room, not stopping to apologise to anyone who she bumped into. What had gotten into her? She didn't do anything with the boy. She'd only touched his hand in an effort to help him calm down! Yet, she was being treated as if she had dishonoured their clan in the worst way possible.

Of course she knew the clans strict laws on marriage and  composure. Ironically, she had been talking of such things with Sasuke too. And only talking. Even in her youth, she'd never do such a thing. Not even for Naruto. She was raised with the morals of a lady, and she wasn't about to break those habits. Her own family believing that she would sickened her.

Standing, she walked over to her closet and dressed herself in a pair of shorts and a sleeveless, purple top with a belt around it. Gone was the puffy jacket she loved, but that was fine. She loved the story of what happened even more. Giggling, she recalled it.

Shikamaru was meant to be smart. People trusted his judgement, he was the Hokage's adviser after all - It was his job to be smart. So when he introduced the idea of having a few bottles of sake at a party Ino was planning, everyone went along with it.
