BEN's POV
Once we—meaning me and Jeff—are far enough from Jane who was tied up to a tree, we stop walking at a large tree to rest there. Not really we because it is just me who need to rest. I slump to the tree and sit there, holding my neck—the wound Jane gave me earlier, where she stabbed me.

I don't want to admit this, but it hellishly hurts like hell. Of course, why wouldn't be stabbed in the neck hurts? I groan when a sting appeared suddenly in my wound. Like I said earlier, it freakishly hurts.

Jeff notices my pained face it seems. "Heh, looks like someone's in pain," he says mockingly. I roll my eyes, annoyed by his words.

"Shut up."

Jeff just cackles, and then doesn't say anything else, leaving me to my thoughts. He knows me—he's my bro, after all.

All of the sudden, ___'s smiling face appeared in my mind. What— I hit my head slightly, trying to remove that image of her. But, if I have to be honest, I am indeed worried about her. Did he really take her? By take I mean, kidnap her? She suddenly disappeared just like that. The last time we talked was after we did that, and then I don't know where she went. But I know a certain thing—she's gone.

Jane's words earlier also catches my attention. You're not getting her back, she said. Those words are echoing in my mind. Also, orders from my boss. I close my eyes, trying to think what she meant for those words. By the first sentence, it is most certainly that ___ was kidnapped by her—or someone else that she works with, since it's most likely a group.

And by the second sentence, I'm still wondering who's the boss. My first suspect is, probably, Zalgo, but there are still other people who are also suspicious. Like—oh, what am I talking about. My one and only suspect is Zalgo.

What makes me very confused right now is, what does ___ have to do with them? I really don't know who are they, but they must've want her since her family died. They must be the one who killed them. No mistaking it.

My head starts to hurt just from thinking about this. It's too complicated, I can't solve this without many hints. The wound on my neck stings again, and I grip it hard to endure it. It doesn't hurt that much now, but better be safe than sorry.

Maybe Jeff knows something about this, despite his stupid and ridiculous looks, he's quite smart. That was a sarcasm.

I whip my head to the pale faced killer. Surprisingly though, his face looks serious. His hand is holding his chin, giving him a look for someone who's thinking hard. Or, he is thinking hard, which is very unlikely of him. He's serious. Usually, he would just mess around with anything and/or anyone. But now, he's serious.

"Jeff," I call him as I stand up, still leaning against the tree.

He looks taken aback, and groans before he turns his head to me. Uh, oh, I just interrupted his thought. Not that I have to worry anything, though. He won't kill me—or even hurt me.

"What?" he spats, obviously annoyed by my interruption. But to me, it's amusing to see him like this.

I hold back my grin on my lips. I take a few breath, and then ask him, "what do you think about all this?"

He stares at me for a few seconds, before averting his gaze, and again, putting his hand below his chin. Thinking. "Well... I think I know who's the brain of this all, but I don't know what does ___ have to do with this."

He's thinking the same way as I do, I thought. I let out a sigh. I look up to Jeff's eyes, and being the shorter one, he looks down to my eyes. We stare for each other for a long time, before his lip move, saying the same thing as my mouth says—"Zalgo." Saying his name makes me shudder. I am not scared of him—it's just... Okay, I'm scared.
