~Ruby's POV~

As I folded up the last box and placed it in the hallway with the others I heard the door bell ring and sighed in annoyance, My mums gone shopping for food and My dad's gone to see his new work place so I was the only one here. I climbed over the stack of folded up boxes and made my way down stairs and opened the new door where a blonde haired boy stood with a container "Hey" I smiled to the boy "Hey, I'm Matt. I live next door, I wanted to welcome you to the neighbour hood" he smiled as he handed me the container "come in" I smiled before making my way into the empty kitchen with Matt following me.

We reached the kitchen and I placed the container on the counter top and opened it. Inside was a large chocolate cake "Thank-you" I smiled as I dipped my finger in the icing and licked it "did you make it" I smiled as I closed the container and washed my hands "No" he laughed "I brought it from the bakers down the street" he continued laughing through his words "fair enough" I laughed in return "where's your parents?" he asked as we sat on the counter "out exploring" I smiled as we swing our feet over the edge "why didn't you join them?" he asked "I wanted to unpack instead of leaving it to do after school tomorrow" I frowned at the sound of school, yes I have good grades but let's face it, who actually enjoys school? "What school?" He asked as he jumped down causing me to follow his action "Mystic Falls High school?" I asked hoping he goes there "I go there" he smiled "Fancy walking me?" I smiled hopefully "sure, but I have a shift at 6:30" he frowned "I can go with you? keep you company?" I asked with a bright smile "sure, but you do know it'll be at half 6 in the morning right" he laughed "I know, That's okay, I'm usually ready by then anyway, I don't like leaving things till the last minuet" I laughed as we began walking to the front door "I'll see you tomorrow then..." He dragged trying to remember if I told him my name "Ruby, Ruby Johnson" I smiled as I opened the front door "see you tomorrow Ruby" he smiled before handing me a piece of paper and walking down the pathway and turning right.
