Kiba's POV
"Kiba? Are you in here?" Hana asked as she walked into my room. "There you are. What are you doing?" She asked. "Packing." I answered. "Packing? Are you going on a trip or something?" Hana asked. "Sort of. I'm heading to Z-City." I explained.
"Z-City? Didn't your team already go there?"
"Yeah." I answered. It's already been three days and I haven't heard from Hitomi, the even more need to worry about her. I don't even know if she's okay.
But what I do know for a fact is that no-good woman Hitomi calls a mother is abusing her to the point where she won't be able to walk or do anything. Damn it all! Just thinking about it now makes me so angry!
That's why I've got to Hitomi and get her out of there! Fast! "Does your team have another mission there?" Hana asked. "No, just me. I'm going alone." I confirmed.
"What do you need to go there for? Let alone, go there without your team?"
"It's... kind of a personal thing."
"Must be pretty important. How long will you be at this city?"
"I'm not sure. A week, maybe a month, tops."
"Well, if it's going to be that long, take some money with you."
"I've already packed enough money."
"Oh, yeah? How much?"
"Enough."
I got finished packing and headed towards the door. "Just be careful out there, okay?" Hana said. "I will." I replied. I left the house, heading towards the Leaf Village Gates.
"Here we go, boy. You ready?" I asked Akamaru. "Arf!" He barked. I smiled at him and we headed out to Z-City. "Just hang in there, Hitomi. I'm coming." I said.
Hitomi's POV
I woke up in the middle of the night as my brain pounded against my skull. "Damn it..." I mumbled as I rubbed my head. I went into the bathroom and took some painkillers so I could go back to sleep. Why was my head hurting, you wonder?
Well, my mother and I got into a small argument about how I wanted to take a walk to the park. When I told her I'd be fine, she yelled at me, saying I wouldn't be fine and how'd I get hurt. Finally, she shut me up by grabbing my head and smashing it against the wall.
There, is where the argument ended. I didn't want it to get worst by having her punish me further.
I went back to bed, but I didn't go back to sleep as I gazed out the window. "Being in this house is too suffocating. I need some fresh air." I whispered to myself. But as long as I live under Mom's house and her rules, I don't think I'll be going anywhere anytime soon.
*****
The next morning, Mom left to the store early to buy more ingredients for her baking, leaving me alone in the house again. I think she was going to bake cupcakes this time.
I was going through an old photo album that was filled with family pictures and other photos of my mother before I was born. I was a little curious about what happened yesterday. Those voices... One was definitely Mom, and the other... I'm not sure.
Who could it be? When I was hearing those voices in my sleep, I didn't see any images. All I heard was my mother's voice and a man's voice. Am I developing a new power, or am I finally going insane due to my mother's abuse?
After going through some pictures, I couldn't find a man in a single one of them. All I could was my baby pictures and Mom taking care of me. "Well, so much for that." I mumbled with a sigh.
