chapter 19

Jay's POV

I woke up around 4 am with the TV still on. I look around and find that im at Ariel's place. I hear dishes clanking together in the kitchen, i silently walk into the kitchen trying to not wake Scar or Ariel. When I get to the kitchen I hear hushed voices.

"Mom, have you seen the news?" I hear Ariel ask.

"No, I haven't sweetie, you know your dad and I have been busy with work." Ms. Moonlight replied

"i know you have..." Ariel pauses. I take a step closer so I can hear better, but I trip on the corner of the wall and fall onto the kitchen floor. Which causes them to stare at me. Ariel is the first one to laugh at me soon after her mom joins in. I scowl.

"Are you okay sweetheart?" I hear Ms.Moonlight ask. I get up from the floor.

"yeah, thank you Ms. Moonlight" I replied with a smile

"oh please call me Marry" she told me. i shock my head in understanding

Ariel's POV

I'm trying to tell mom that Ray is here but this would have been easier if she seen the news. I was going to tell her but Jay decided to fall in the kitchen. My mom asks if shes okay while im still laughing.

"anyway dear what were you going to say?" my mom asked me continuing the conversation. i take a deep breath and decide she doesn't need to worry about it.

"never mind mom, its nothing." I say with a smile

"Ariel I can tell this isn't nothing, don't think that i don't know you aren't sleeping anymore or when you do you wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning. Now tell me whats going on" she says in a stern voice.

I sigh "alright well the first thing is the nightmares are back..." I take a breath before continuing "...and Ray's out of prison and he's here in Winnipeg" I tell her. I watch all the colour drain from her face and her eyes go wide.

"Honey, get down her now!!!" my mother yells for my father. I see my father run into the kitchen followed by a sleepy Scarlet.

"what's going on?" my dad ask alerted while lett ask sleepily.

"Ray's out of prison and is here and Ariel is having nightmares again, what are we going to do, we can't move again" my mom told them slightly panicked

"mom sit down, and we don't have to move again" I tell her trying to calm her down. After she sits down and takes a deep breath I turn to my dad to see that the colour from his face has drained.

"What do you mean he's out?" my dad asks

"He got out on good behavior and he got moved here with is parole officer." I told them. My dad just notices Jay standing there.

"This must be confusing for you Jay and I wish i could tell you but that's Ariel's story to tell" my dad says to her

"don't worry dad she already knows" I told him. He nodded his head in understanding.

"Have you seen him anywhere" my dad asks turning back to me. I nod my head, he gives me a confused look.

"yesterday at the mall when Jay and I went shopping" I told them. I look at the time and notice that they have to get going

"mom, dad you got to get going. I'll be fine" I tell them with a smile. They look at each other a sigh knowing that they really do have to go. Dad walks over to me and kisses my forehead before saying bye, my mom gets up and does the same. After they leave I head up stares and take a shower.

I decided to wear my navy blue skater dress with pink flowers on it. I wear matching vans with it. for jewelry I put on and three layer necklace, the choker is a thin black string with a moon pendent on it, the short necklace is a silver chain with five triangles on it, and the last and longest necklace is a silver chain with a light blue crystal pendent on it. I'm also wearing a black fabric bracelet with silver studs on it. My hair is in a lose braid and its off to the side. For make up I went for a nude smokey eye and nude matte lipstick.
