Chapter 20

Ariel's POV

I'm back in Tucson at the house that I never want to return to. It's storming outside and I'm in a corner clutching my side where he kicked me. He's here watching me wince in pain. He enjoys this. He's a sick bastard.

"Please stop" I begged. He smiled at me with an evil glint in his eyes.

"Oh you want me to stop?" H asked coming dangerously close.

"Yes, p-please" I told him with a shaky voice.

"Oh cupcake, you know that's not how it works." He stated slowly pulling out a knife from behind his back. I'm still backed into the corner. As soon as the metal connected with my skin is when i woke up in a cold sweat.

I took a long, hot shower by the time I get out its 4:30. I start to get ready, i decide to wear my maroon, long sleeved, v-neck shirt with my faded dark blue skinny jeans and my maroon converse. For jeweler i decided on a simple sliver heart necklace. I put on foundation and concealer to hide the dark circles under my eyes then I did a nude smokey eye with a nude matte lipstick and for hair i scrunched it up so it could dry in waves and i put on a black knit beanie with a pom pom on it. After i was ready i grabbed my mini black backpack purse.

I headed downstairs to the kitchen. My parents are gone on their business trip, they left last night. i poured myself a bowl of Fruit Loops. Once im done i put the bowl in the sink and grab my keys to go. I still have time before i have to be at school so i go to Tim Hortons' and order a Gingerbread hot chocolate and a thing of festive timbits, knowing my friends will steal some.

When i arrive at school im greeted by lett and Jay. The first thing lett does is steal my drink as i knew she would. She gives my back my drink and i mumble good morning to her. I head over to the table everyone is sitting at and begin to eat my timbits and drink my drink. I put the timbits in the middle of the table and everyone starts to eat them too.

"How are you doing?" Jay whispers to me. I shrug my shoulders

"I've been better, I just wish i could sleep more than 2 hours a night." i tell her. She nods her head in understanding.

"Hey Oliver do you want to hang out later?" I hear one of the boys ask him

"i can't, i'm meeting Natalia at the park today." When i hear him say that my head snaps towards him, i see confused faces on everyone else faces.

"Why?" i hear Emily ask

"Because she's actually really cool when you get to know her." Oliver says to Em. Em just looks at her brother like what is wrong with you but she says nothing.

After School Oliver's POV

I get to the park and see Ray and Nat already there. I wave at them as i walk over.

"Hey guys" i say when i get to them. They both say hi before getting serious.

"So i found out that her parents are in Europe on a business trip." Ray informs us. Both Nat and I have confused faces on wondering why that is important.

"That means we won't have to worry about her ditching town again." he informs us.

"So when are we going to strike?" I ask

"In a week" He declared before continuing "Nat you know what to do right?" He asks her.

"Yes i do, and after i make the announcement is when you will come out" She says. At this point we all have smirks on our faces. I just hope that my friends and sister won't stay with her after hearing the truth. Oh how i can't wait till next week.
