I watched as Taehyung's car drove up and parked outside of my apartment. I was sitting on the front porch, and he walked quickly towards me.

"What happened?" Taehyung asked, a worried expression on his face.

"I'll tell you inside." I replied as we entered my house. I told Taehyung to sit on the couch, and I picked up the note from appa.

"Read this." I said, shoving it into his hands, making the sides of the paper crumpled.

Taehyung spent a minute or two reading the whole thing.

After he finished, he glanced up at me. "You already broke rule two..." he mumbled.

I nodded, staring at the ground.

"Do you have any idea how much danger you're in?" Taehyung asked sternly.

"I had to tell you!" I blurted out. "If you were in my position, you would have done the same thing!"

"Well-" Taehyung started in an attempt to prove me wrong, but then stopped himself. "You do have a point..."

"But what am I supposed to do now? I don't want to listen to what my appa says and risk getting in trouble with the police for helping him, but if I hand everything over to the police too fast, then it might just be useless." I replied.

"But it's not useless, it's proof that he was here! In your apartment! He escaped jail, and now he's planning something." Taehyung responded.

"That, and the fact that we wants us to watch our backs... that's all we know. If we hand this over to the police, they'll probably just search the area and have police guarding us and the rest of the area for a little while or something..." I explained. "And then appa will know that they're after him, and go as far away from here as possible."

"So what are we supposed to do with it?" Taehyung asked.

"I guess we should probably wait until he contacts me again... he said he would know if I broke any of the rules, so he'll probably leave another note with a response to that." I said.

"And what if he comes back and decides to hurt you, or any of your family instead?" Taehyung asked in a serious tone.

"What do you mean?"

"He warned you not to break any of those rules. You already broke the second one, you think he's just gonna scold you and be done with it?" Taehyung said. "Your actions have consequences, there's no easy way out now. And he said he wouldn't hurt anyone yet. That doesn't mean he isn't willing to if necessary."

"Well he sent the note to me. Obviously he needs me for something to complete whatever he escaped prison for. Yeah, he'll be mad, but he won't hurt me unless I'm not of use to him anymore." I said. "I know there's consequences, but they won't be as bad as you think."

"Then let me protect you, just in case." Taehyung stated.

"Wait... what?" I raised a brow at him. How was he supposed to do that?

"I saved you multiple times before, correct?"

He did have a point.

"Yeah... and why does that matter? This is way worse than what those scenarios were. Those situations were just a drunk stranger in an alley and almost being hit by a car, not protecting me from my appa who's on the run from the police and could be planning pretty much anything right now." I replied.

"Yeah, this is a much bigger deal, but if we stick together, then we can protect each other." Taehyung explained. "He said for both of us to watch our backs. I'm guessing you aren't planning on telling anyone else about this note, so who else is going to protect us?"
