As days went by, I started to notice that Drake was a sweet person. He was hot and sweet. A great combination. He hadn't called me beautiful again, but you could see he thought about it in his eyes.
The day after he found me, we went out to chop wood. He tended to do this with his shirt off.
He was very muscular, but not to the point where it was unattractive.
As we were chopping, he stopped suddenly. I was afraid he had seen me staring at him chopping wood. He was hot when he did it.
He looked around, looking very afraid. "What is it?" I asked cautiously. "Shush, stop talking," he demanded.
"Umm excuse me sir, but my freedom of speech is protected by my rights as a citizen of these United States. And just because I'm a woman doesn't give you special rights over me! And further more-" "Shush! I'm listening!"
I started listening too, but the only thing I could here was the birds, the water rushing past, and a faint growling.
He grabbed the ax firmly, and said, "How much training do you have to handle bear attacks?" "Not much, but I can handle a charging moose." "Not bad for a girl," he said, handing me another ax.
The bear came rushing into view near me. "I'M NOT JUST A GIRL!" I screamed as I swung the ax and hit the bear in the muzzle. This just seemed to infuriate it more, and it circled around for another attack. Before I could react, the bear swung it's giant claws at me. I got cut across the forehead and was bleeding heavily. I fell over and tried to get up, but I was tangled in the undergrowth.
"WELL YOU DEFIANTLY LOOK LIKE ONE!" he yelled as he hit the bear, just before it came to attack again. I grabbed a tree and tried to right myself.
"AND YOU HAVE THE JUDGMENT OF ONE TOO!" he yelled at me, hitting the bear one last time. He grabbed me in bride-style again and ran back to the cabin...
****************
When we got back to the cabin, he put me on his only bed, and started to give me first aid.
"Why did you say I had the judgment of a girl?" I asked, somewhat annoyed by him telling me that.
"Her cub was in that tree. She would have killed you for sure, if she didn't see how muscular and fit I was."
"Okay," I laughed, then winced, because that hurt.
"Easy," he said, "or you could start losing more blood." He grabbed something out of a chest.
"What is that?" I asked. "Boo-boo spray," he said. "Darn," I said. "Why do you say that?" He asked. "Because its only the hot ones that make you go through pain so that you can get better." "Haha," he said, "very funny. "
He sprayed it into the cut, and it was all I could do to not cry in agony. "Ahh!" I said. I couldn't help myself. It just hurt to bad. "Sorry! I'm just going to put some gauze on it so it doesn't get infected and it stops bleeding."
He told me I was in strict bed rest for a week, that meant no fighting bears for a week, but why did I mind if I got to stay in bed for a week with a hot guy taking care of me?
