I was running, running somewhere. I didn't know where, I just knew I had to get away. Then, I saw him out of the corner of my eye. He was very fuzzy, but why would you need to see the face of someone who was trying to kill you?

He was catching up now, so close. I was going to die. I tripped over a branch. He had found me. He grabbed me, he held the knife to my throat. So close now, so close. I felt the cold steel of the knife touch my throat. Goodbye world, I thought. I closed my eyes, and waited for death...

****************

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! My alarm clock woke me from the vivid dream.

I could still feel the ache of my muscles.

I found my roof was leaking again. That was why the steel was so cold.

"GET UP!" my mother yelled. I got out of bed, and found that the floor was as cold as the water dripping on my neck.

It was 4 o'clock in the morning, my usual wake-up time.

"DO YOUR CHORES!" she yelled.

I had 2 hours to get them done, and I was still shaken from my dream.

***************

2 hours later, I was done, and ready to go to school.

The bus was out front. I got on, and my mom pulled out of the driveway with my younger sister in the back seat.

My mother hated me, and hated my sister slightly less.

We went to the same school, because we lived in a small town, and she got the ride. She was 10,  I was 17, about to turn 18

****************

After school, I got home before everyone, so I made some popcorn and hot chocolate, then went upstairs to my room.

I started to hear a rustling on the side of the house. I went over to the window to investigate.

When I reached the window, a hand shot up and grabbed me. A sack was put over my head, and I got pulled into a car.

I was so shocked, I couldn't even scream.

When he shut the car door, that's when I came to my senses and started to pound on the window.

He got back in the car, so I had to stop. Would I ever be back, I wondered.

One thing was certain, I had been kidnapped.
