When I got home I text my two best friends, Kelson and Lorain, and told them about Tallulah. I got off my bed and walked into the bathroom. The cold floor beneath my feet comforted me, it was the one thing normal about my day, every night I got up and walked to the bathroom. As I was about to turn off my phone I got a call from my best friend that was a guy, Will.
"Hello?"I questioned.
"Hey, Shia. I'm really sorry about your cat. Do you need me to come over?" he spoke.
"No, it's too late for you to be driving. How did you find out?" I asked.
"Kelson." he replied.
"That girl cannot keep her mouth shut." I said laughing.
Will and I kept talking until he asked me who I liked and I got butterflies because who I liked was his cousin who exactly didn't get along with.
"First tell me who you like." I alleged.
"Well Kayleigh and me are kind of going out." he said softly.
I dropped my phone off the side off my bed and my heart skipped a beat. I let out a huge sigh and hung off my bed to pick up my phone.
"Sorry Will I dropped my phone. Why are you dating her again? She is bad news." I groaned.
"I don't know she just asked me to go to the movies with her Friday." he replied.
"Okay well it's three in the morning we both need to get some sleep. I'll talk to you at school, okay?" I asked.
"Sounds good. Later." he replied.
I knew he was giving me the nod even though we weren't in the same room. I never had feelings for Will, but I loved him like a brother and he would do anything for me. Now that I was off the phone my eyes began to droop and I said my prayers and went to sleep.
Friday morning at school everyone crowded around me asking me if I was okay. How many people knew? I only told two people. My friend Lacy was constantly telling people to leave me alone. Her dog died a few years back so she knew what it felt like. During fifth period someone brought it up again and I started to tear up. I quickly asked my teacher if I could go to the restroom and walked out of the room with my head down. I bumped into someone and almost fell to the floor before whoever it was caught me. I looked up and saw Will's worried face.
"Shai, its okay." he said after he saw my teary eyes pulling me into a hug.
Just then Kayleigh walked out of the restroom and saw Will hugging me. She shot me a look filled with hatred and came up behind Will and pulled him off of me, then kissed him for a long time. I felt so furious and embarrassed at the same time.
I started to walk away when Will alleged, "Get off of me can't you see I was busy, she is hurt." I turned around and he came back to me and put his arm around me. "Come on let's go eat then will go to your house, your mom will understand."
I looked up at him and suddenly I was swept off my feet about what happened next.
