Alarmed, we scrambled as quickly as we could to our feet. However, there was no cause for alarm, since Odahviing had just landed on the roof. We quickly gathered ourselves and our supplies, and soon we were on our way to the portal to Sovngarde. However, when we landed, there was not an enemy in sight. Wary, we drew our weapons and began a march into the crypt. Except for a few draugr, and some atronachs, there were no other enemies. Correction: None of the powerful, overwhelming enemies were to be seen or heard, no dragons and dragon overlords swooping in from out of nowhere and relentlessly beating us until we exhaled our final breath. None of that. We skeptically walked up the portal, and activated it. All of a sudden, the enemies seemed to come from everywhere, even the ground we stood on. I quickly pushed my friends into the portal, not thinking about the consequences. I followed suit as well, and that's when the really weird part began. As we travelled to what I presumed to be Sovngarde, I saw flickers of my everyday life. It was as though my life was flashing before my- Oh my god it was. I saw when we had landed to Skyrim, and when I had died. I saw my actions I had gone through to get back, and cringed, hoping the others did not see. But as I glanced around the suddenly spacious void, I saw none of them. No one.
"Guys?" I called, but no one answered. Suddenly, in a blur I was in a heap on the ground, the beating of war drums telling me I had landed in what was called Sovngarde. However, none of my friends were around.
"Lindsey? Travis! Brooke? Timius!?" I yelled, but I heard nothing. "Where are you guys..." I muttered to myself.
*Lindsey POV*
When we had reached the portal, Suzannah shoved us inside, and I assume she followed us. I saw my life flashing before my eyes, and saw when we had first landed into the world known as "Skyrim". I saw Suzannah teaching us what we needed to know, and me learning my first shout. I saw us 'rescuing' Brooke, and us completing the quests. I saw Suzannah's death, and what we had to do after to get to this point. But suddenly, it was over, and I was harshly thrown back onto the stone pillar that was the entrance to the portal. Looking around, I noticed Timius, Brooke and Travis were there as well, but Suzannah was nowhere to be seen. I stood up and quickly tried to enter the portal again, only to be thrown backwards with even more force than before. I noticed none of the enemies we had seen before we entered were there, and wondered where they all went. Cautiously, I walked down the great steps that led to the gate, waiting for something-ANYTHING- to come out, but all was still.
"Are.. are we in Sovngarde?" Travis wearily asked, but Timius only scowled.
"Unfortunately, no. We're back in Skyrim, but how? Suzannah has disappeared, but we have no clue where she came out or anything like that!" Timius seethed, and all eyes turned to him. We soon realised we may be stuck here for quite a while, since we didn't have Suzannah here to tell us what might've gone wrong, or how we get around it. Of course, none of us thought to learn the shout to call Odahviing either, so we were stuck. Travis and I walked over to one of the towers and scoured for food, finding that near the top it was well stocked with supplies and beds. Timius and Brooke took to setting up a perimeter of sorts, with Brooke defending the lower regions of the tower and Timius guarding the top, with a bow at the ready. It was all deadly silent, and we wondered what on earth we could do. Many hours had passed, and the sun was close to rising when I saw the silhouette of a Dragon on the horizon. Looking closer, I could tell it was Odahviing, no doubt seeing if we were alive and victorious, or if we had perished. When he arrived, he was quite surprised to find the place deserted.
"Sakaji, where is, kind one?" He asked me in broken english.
"She went through the portal, as did we all, but we were all kicked out. We don't know where she went, or if she's even alive."
Odahviing seemed to ponder this, before asking," I know..question.. a bit.. Strange? But..Sakaji.. has died before?"
"Has she died before?" When he vigorously nodded, and I giggled at how happy he seemed we understood.
"Yes, she has. We don't know how she got back however.." Travis said, enthralled by the flames curling and weaving around his fingers.
"Since.. Sakaji has died..before... Sakaji is... allowed?"
"She can go there because she's died, but we can't because we haven't died?" Brooke guessed, and Odahviing nodded once again.
"Mara help us.." Brooke muttered to herself, wondering how they could get to Sovngarde.
