Year 4

January 1975

Lily:

Dear Diary,

I went home for Christmas and it was terrible. Tuney refused to talk to me the entire time, not that I expected her to. She hasn't replied to any of my letters in a year. Early this morning, I found Sirius burning a letter (I think it was from his parents). He was crying. I talked to him for and hour, and turns out our families have quite a lot on common. Sirius isn't just some arrogant kid from a rich family. His relatives are pure-blood maniacs and they're disappointed that Sirius didn't turn out more like them. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! THEY'RE THREATENING TO DISOWN HIM BECAUSE HE TURNED OUT HALFWAY DECENT! The wizarding world isn't all just cool enchanted ceilings and talking portraits.

May 1975

Lily:

Dear Diary,

Sev is starting to drift away, and I'm worried. He's hanging around the creepy Slytherin bunch more and more and they don't strike me as the good type. Sev's not a bad kid. He's my best friend, I need to set him straight.

James:

People are starting to disappear. There are rumors going around that some guy named Voldemort is gathering followers to start a wizarding revolution. They're going to overthrow the Muggles and kill all the Muggleborns and their family. Lily Evans, I'm not going to let that happen.
