Chapter 2: Sofia Remembers

  "Thanks Skylar!" Sofia announced as the unicorn lamded in front of her castle.

"Anytime Sofia." The unicorn replied then took off again.

Sofia wanted to tell her mom about her latest adventure against Prisma. Only her mother and sister know about her new role, as a Protector of the Ever Realm.

"Baileywhick where's Mom?" Sofia asked when she came through the palace doors.

"Princess, your mother wishes to not be disturbed by anyone today." Baileywhick replied.

"Oh, but I'll bet she will see me." Sofia said as she began the walk to her mothers room.

"Sofia, she meant including you." Baileywhick answered stepping in front of the young princess.

"What?!" Sofia was shocked. "Is she ok?"

"Yes, but she wants to be alone." Baileywhick answered at once.

Sofia frowned, why today when she had an amazing story to tell her mother?

On her way to her room, she bumped into Amber. "Did you hear about Mom?"

"Yes, apparently Mother needs a quiet day to herself. The poor thing was almost in tears when I showed her my red hair." Amber explained.

Sofia gasped, "did you say red hair?"

"Yes, yes, red. Please listen up." Amber scolded.

Sofia didnt listen, she was caught in her own thoughts.

"Sofia? Sofia, are you in there?" Amber asked worried about her little sister.

"I have to go!" Sofia said abruptly running for her room.

Thats why! Sofia thought furiously to herself. She ran to her room willing the tears to stop coming forward.

She was hoping none of her animal friends were in her room. When she came in, she sighed in relief that it was empty.

Quickly, Sofia opened the large trunk at the foot of her bed. She took everything out in search of something.

At last, she found it, her old simple dress that she wore as a commoner. "I need a day away from royal life." Sofia said to herself. She set her tiara on her bedside table.

Sofia went into her closet to change and put on her most comfy shoes. She looked like a commoner again, as she tucked her amulet under her dress.

With a sigh, Sofia went to her desk and wrote a note saying;

Need a break, I am going out. Please dont follow. I will be back by dinmer.

When Sofia opened her bedroom door, she pined the note there hoping someone would see it. She only hoped no one would catch her leaving. The less questions for her to answer, the better.
