Interruptance

Of course Betty and I got interrupted. It's like they have a sense. They can feel when we are having a moment, or about to.
"Do we have to get up?" Betty said, acting as tired as she can.
"Yes, betts. Just get dressed and join me at the door," I know Betty hates getting up before 9, but I guess we had to.
I walked towards the door and opened it slowly. It was Tall boy.
"Tall boy! You always come when Betty and I are alone, don't you?" I was so annoyed with the serpents.
"Listen to me and listen closely. You stand by serpents, whether you're with a serpent or your girlfriend. You joined this gang, right? Tall boy was getting mad. Really mad.
I didn't sag anything. I just stood there, with a scowl on my face.
"Jug, who is it? Betty said, right before seeing those serpents.
"Oh, but of course it's the people who have ruined every single moment I have had with my boyfriend" Betty was starting to get defensive, I could tell. Nobody wants a moody Betty.
"Hey, it's okay betts. Right, Tall Boy?" I was going to try and negotiate with him, but I instantly knew it wouldn't work.
"Listen to me closely. We are your family. You betrayed us. Remember when you first joined the serpents? How you got beat up?" Tall Boy had something in mind, and it wasn't good.
"I, um... I do. How could i forget?" This was not getting good. Betty hugged my shoulder and had a scared look on her face. It's really my main goal to keep her safe.
I went in for a punch but Tall Boy grabbed my wrist tightly.
"I'll be back later tonight. Do you understand? I have to finish what we've started," tall boy said as he let go of my wrist.
"Juggy, I'm not letting you do this. I can't," Betty really didn't want me to do anything like that, but I had to.
"It'll be okay. Nothing is going to happen to me. But it would mean a lot if you would be there to support me," I tried to reason with her. Serpents don't like fighting in front of girls, especially North Siders.
"Well of course I'll be there, jug. I wouldn't miss it for the world, even though I really don't want to go" Betty is the sweetest person on this earth.
I kissed her and we walked back inside. That thing I had said, that I wish our kids had led to more, well, it did.
