After that night, I didn't see Betty for a week. I didn't know if it was just a coincidence or if there was a real reason. She didn't respond to my texts or answer my calls. I had to see her.
BETTYS HOUSE
I knocked on the door with hope in my head. I heard someone walking down the stairs; it was Alice.
She opened the door and as soon as she saw me slammed it. I knocked again. This time, she really answered.
"Jughead! What a pleasure to see you...." she said, with a bad look on her face.
"I need to see Betty," I said as I fought my way in. "Betty isn't here," Alice said.
"What the hell? Where is she then?" I was getting a bit mad.
"She... she-" I cut her off. "I'm going upstairs whether you like it or not.
BETTYS ROOM
She was there, sitting in her window, writing in her diary with tears barely dripping down her face.
"Betty, what's wrong?" I said, walking slowly to her, not forgetting to close the door.
"Jug, you need to go. Now," she said to me. "Betty, I haven't see you since... our moment. You can't just ignore me like this!" I said, as I didn't know anything that was going on.
"Yes, I can!" She said, almost crying, trying to push me out the door.
"Betty, please. Tell me what's wrong... I'm so worried about you!" I said to her.
"I... I can't. It's too hard,"Betty said, holding her tears back.
"Betty, please."
"Jug, I'm moving. But tha-" she said before I cut her off.
"You're moving?" I said.
"Jughead, let me finish. Please?" She said to me, holding onto my t-shirt.
I said, "okay, what?".
"Jug, you promise not to freak out?" She asked me.
"Yes, babe, I promise."
"I'm pregnant." She was crying now.
And I might have promised her not to, but I freaked out.
