I woke up to the sound of notifications, not from my phone though. I opened my eyes and lifted my head. I saw Noah texting.
"Noah? What happened?"I yawned and he smiled.
"You, well we, fell asleep for almost 2 hours. I texted my mom to come pick us up. How are you feeling?"
"Oh, ok thanks. I'm a little better I guess. Still really hurt though."I sighed as the emotions started flooding back.
"Yeah, well we're spending the day together whether you like it or not. I don't want you to be alone."He locked eyes with me and we stared at each other.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door and immediately he jumped up to get it. I sighed and his mom came in.
"I have to go grab a few things from my room, I'll meet you guys outside."I said and they agreed to the plan.
I got to my room and went into the bathroom. I took my makeup and put it in my old gym bag from school along with two shirts.
I had gotten all my stuff. Turning the lights off, I walked out and headed for the exit.
I was still really sad about Kevin, but Noah was helping. I just can't believe he would do that to me. After over a year he just breaks the trust. I don't even know how many times he cheated or for how long. The girl looked like one of his exes. How could he do that to me?? He told me he loved me. And I loved him.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and pushed the doors up, scaring myself a little at how hard I pushed. I get like that when I'm upset.
I stood and looked around for a sec. "Ris!!"
Noah was a few feet away running to me. I smiled a little and started running to meet him.
"Got your stuff?"He stopped running as we met and kept walking alongside me.
"Yep, it's surprisingly hot today wow."I felt the impact of the hot sun make me want to wear as little clothing as possible.
"I know, so what do you wanna do? It's only noon."He said excitedly as we got into the car.
"I mean, I was planning on staying in bed all day watching movies and drowning myself in junk food."I looked at the ground since I felt bad that I didn't wanna do much. If I wasn't so sad I would be more adventurous.
"Nah, we can do that tonight. I say we try and get you a bit happier first. What do you say??"He was looking at me.
I glanced up at him and then back at the ground. "Noah..I-I don't know.."I stuttered, not wanting to let go of my need to sulk.
"Please?"He made me look at him. My lips parted as I tried to figure out what to say.
He gave me puppy dog eyes. "Noah don't do thattt!!"I whined and shoved his face away.
"Come on Ris," he put his hand on mine. "Let's go on an adventure."
I smirked and interlaced our fingers. "Fine, we can go on an adventure."I reluctantly smiled.
"WOOO!!"He cheered and put his hands in the hair, mine going up too since we were still holding hands.
"Umm, is that okay? I can let go we don't have to hold hands I just thou-"He rambled and I put my other hand over his mouth.
"I don't mind."I laughed and took my hand away from his mouth. He poked me and then his mom got in the car.
I mean, what was weird about holding hands? We were just two friends. Holding hands. Friends. Yeah.
