"Hi." Kevin said sadly.
"Hello." I said confused. "How do you know where I live?"
"I have my ways." He said. "I'm sorry for making you cough up blood."
"I'm sorry for Judo flipping you." He looked confused.
"Why are you sorry?" I looked him in the eyes. "I was the one who beat you up, well attempted to." We both laughed awkwardly.
"Would you like to come in?" I asked. He smiled.
"Yes please." He walked inside and immediately looked at our grand piano. "Do you play?"
"A little do you want to hear?" He nodded. "What should I play?"
"You should play Just a Dream by Carrie Underwood." I laughed.
"I would never have guessed you were a Carrie Underwood Fan." I walked over to the piano and started playing
It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen
All dressed in white
Going to the church that night
She had his box of letters in the passenger seat
Sixpence in a shoe, something borrowed, something blue
And when the church doors opened up wide
She put her veil down
Trying to hide the tears
Oh she just couldn't believe it
She heard trumpets from the military band
And the flowers fell out of her hand
Baby why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe
It's like I'm looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream
The preacher man said let us bow our heads and pray
Lord please lift his soul, and heal this hurt
Then the congregation all stood up and sang the saddest song that she ever heard
Then they handed her a folded up flag
And she held on to all she had left of him
Oh, and what could have been
And then the guns rang one last shot
And it felt like a bullet in her heart
Baby why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe
It's like I'm looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream
Baby why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
Oh, now I'll never know
It's like I'm looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream
Oh, this is just a dream
Just a dream
Kevin was smiling. "Wow you are amazing." I smiled.
"Why thank you." I fake bowed. We laughed. "Why are you even here well besides to apologize?"
"I'm here to warn you about Lisa." I laughed.
"What about her?"
"She's going to want to get her revenge on you." I laughed.
"If I could take you I'm pretty sure I can take her." He laughed.
"No but seriously she wont go after you by fighting. She will start rumors and ruin your reputation."
"I already have a reputation because someone decided to fight me. So now I'm known as the strong hippie girl. Just kidding but I'm probably getting called something like that."
"Ya most likely." He smiled weakly. "I'm really sorry."
"It's fine." I said. And with that he left. I went up to my room and passed out being tired from all the drama.
The next morning I woke up to my alarm screaming at me. I looked at the time and it was 6:30. I yawned and got up. I put on some running shorts and a t-shirt and went for a run. I started running and tried to clear my head. I had empty thoughts the whole time I was running. When I got home it was 6:45. I ran up the stairs to the bathroom so I could take a cold shower before I went to school. I turned on the ice cold water and just stood there for 5 minutes cooling off. I dried off and ran into my room to grab some clothes. I put on a black plated skirt and a cookie monster shirt. I blow dried my hair quickly and went down stairs for breakfast. Yet again my parents were waiting for me.
"Good morning mom and dad." I said they felt uncomfortable and you could tell.
"Good morning." Mom said. I poured a bowl of coco puffs into a shreck bowl and poured my milk over it. I gobbled it up quickly so I could leave. It was 6:55 and the bus would be at the bus stop in 5 minutes. I kissed my mom and dad on the cheek and went to the front door to put on my knee high converse. I zipped them up and I was out the door.
