Noelle's POV
After a few minutes of thinking, Pyro finally whispered, "Yes." He then got up, and left. I heard some fighting in the hallway, so I went to check it out. There was ink all over the place.
"AW, COME ON!" I shouted. "WHO MADE THIS MESS?!"
I found out Zane was still awake, and he was talking with Pyro. Whatever Zane said clearly made Pyro mad, because Pyro punched Zane in the shoulder. Zane went back to bed in disappointment.
I went into the forgery, and built myself a new tail. It was arrow-tipped, and made of titanium. I attached it to the stub of what was left of my old tail. Well just great, another robotic part. Fun.
Out in the hall, I heard voices. I stopped cleaning up the excess metal, and snuck up by the door of the forgery, and used my robotic eye to see through it.
There were two people. One of them was Pyro, the other was a woman. It was diffidently a goddess, Goddess of Aircrafts I think. They were holding hands.
"Chloe." Pyro said. "I have something to ask you. Wait right here."
"Alright!" she replied excitedly. Pyro walked towards the forgery. I ducked behind a table. He entered the room, and grabbed a box. He then left, shutting the door behind him. I went back up to the door and activated my robotic eye again.
Pyro knelt on one knee. He opened the box. In it, was a gold and diamond ring.
"Chloe." he said. "Will you marry me?"
The woman, who I assume is Chloe, jumped up, and said. "YES!"
Pyro lifted up Chloe and spun her in the air and she giggled. They walked away.
I backed up. No. I thought Pyro loved me. I realized that he didn't.
Am I to blame? I must have done something wrong. I had a light bulb moment.
Pyro thought I had killed his father. But I didn't. Those boys did. Yet he blames it on me. I remember how his father, in his dying words, had said that Pyro and I were soulmates. He was wrong.
I got so upset I trashed up the forgery, burnt my wing in some of the lava. I drooped down, and walked off.
One Week Later...
Noelle's POV
The wedding was today. Everyone, including Pyro, tried to keep it a secret from me. But I knew it all. I stood in the back of the church in the shadows, so no one would see me. Pyro was in a nice suit, Chloe came in wearing a beautiful dress. All the admins and gods where here. After a few hours, the priest said, "Chloe, do you take Arcturis as your lovely wedded husband, promising to stay with him no matter what happens?"
"I do." Chloe replied.
The priest turned to Pyro. "And do you, Arcturis, take Chloe as your lovely wedded wife, promising to stay with her no matter what happens?"
Pyro seemed to hesitate. He looked around. I swear I saw a sadness in his eyes.
"I do." he finally said.
"Good. You may kiss the bride." the priest said.
Pyro swept Chloe off her feet and dipped down, kissing her. Everyone made whooping and whistling sounds. They were all happy for the newly wedded couple.
I looked at my hand. On my ring finger was my wedding ring. It wasn't as elaborate as Chloe's, not at all. I took it off, tears in my eyes, and threw it on the ground. It made a loud clanging sound. Everyone looked over to see what was going on. I stepped out of the shadows. Pyro gasped.
I ran out of the church, crying. Pyro was following me but I flew off.
"NOELLE, COME BACK!" he shouted. I ignored him. I flew, tears streamed down my cheeks. The only person I had ever loved, just left me. Just like that. I landed on top of a building in the city, and sat down. I sighed. I guess Pyro and Chloe are just a better couple. They have so many similarities. At least Pyro will be happy now. That made me feel a little better, knowing that someone I loved would finally be happy.
I heard the sounds of partying, so I flew to see what it was. At the HQ, everyone was having a good time. Pyro and Chloe were dancing together. They kissed again. I flew off to the cave in the mountain, and finally finished a project I had been working on for a very long time.
It was finally finished. I had found a way to bring back Pyro's father, back to the way he once was.
"Noelle! It's you!" he said.
"Yes, it is." I replied.
"Where's Pyro? Is he being a good husband?"
I morphed into an ice dragon, and held Pyro's father in my paws. I flew to the party. He gasped, and I explained everything.
"I though you two were married." Pyro's father said.
"We were." I replied. "But he left me for someone else. At least he's happy now."
I set Pyro's father down, and morphed back to my hybrid form. I approached Pyro. He froze.
"Look." I said. "I may not be married to you anymore, but I had done this for our wedding anniversary which was coming up soon." Pyro's father ran to Pyro and hugged him. Pyro hugged him back.
"Noelle." Pyro said. "You did this for me?"
I nodded my head. "I thought that would make you happy."
"Noelle, I think I owe you an apology-"
"No, it's alright. You're happy now, and that's all I care about. Chloe is right for you."
Chloe walked over and said, "Who is this honey?" with disgust.
"Oh, just an old friend." Pyro replied. "Come on, let's go dance."
I shed one more tear, and flew off. I may not be happy, but at least he is now. I flew back to the old HQ, and sat on top of it. It was late at night. I cried myself to sleep in the cold.
