Trouble

I dragged Lei with me as we walked through the dense undergrowth. "WELCOME, TO THE JUNGLE!! PLEASE INSERT NAME" we heard the voice boom. A small slot appeared in front of us. I pressed the slot and a keyboard popped up in front of me. N I N A. "WELCOME NINA!" the voice said loud enough to make my eardrums hurt. Lei did the same as I did and pressed the slot. L E I. "WELCOME LEI!" The voice rang out. That's it I've had enough of it being loud. "Jesus Chriminy, CAN YOU PLEASE LOWER YOUR GAWD DANG VOICE!?" I screamed out angrily. Everything grew quiet. Uh oh. Birds were quiet and so were other animals. Out of the comes of my eye I saw something move. I grabbed Lei and pulled her out of the way just in time as a panther came jumping out at the spot where Lei was. Me and Lei ran as fast as our legs could carry us. I pulled Lei sharply to the left as the panther pounced again. Dammit! I continued to run while dragging Lei. "HURRY UP BEFORE WE LOOK LIKE STRING CHEESE!!" I said. Lei picked up her pace and we both made a beeline to the cliff. The panther was running after us and was getting ready to pounce. Perfect. The panther pounced and I moved Lei out of the way as the panther flew past us and down the cliff it went. I collapsed on the ground into a heap. I panted for air. Lei and me lie on the ground and waited for our deflated lungs to recharge. I closed my eyes and exhaustion washed over me like a title wave. I forced my eyes open and looked around for any danger. I heard Lei groan as she sat up. "Welcome back lazy bones" I said rolling my eyes. I stood up and brushed myself off. At least I'm exercising like mom asked. I chuckled a bit at my mental joke. "What can you possible be laughing about!?! We are stuck in a video game, as far as I can tell there is nothing FUNNY!" Lei said glaring at me. I shook my head and smiled. "I just made a joke that's all, and its also better to laugh then to be scared" I said, offering Lei a hand. Lei took my hand and I helped her up. "Wow, I can't believe at how much bull crap came out of your mouth" she said still glaring daggers at me. I rolled me eyes and looked around yet again. I feel like I'm being watched. That's when I heard rustling come from behind us. "ARE YOU-" I put my hand over her mouth. "Shut up for a second! There is something behind us, when I say go we turn around and run past it, that'll give us the element of surprise" I whispered to her. Her eyes went wide and she only nodded. I pulled away. "GO" I yelled.
